The Safari Rally is a rally held in Kenya. It was first held in 1953 as a celebration of the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II. The event was part of the World Rally Championship from 1973 until 2002, before returning in 2021. It is historically regarded as one of the toughest events in the World Rally

The Safari Rally (though not as much as years back) is almost a Rally Dakar placed in the WRC calendar, making it its toughest event by a mile. Stages are huge and pace notes limited, and navigating that terrain is a nightmare. Other specially tough event on the WRC calendar is the Rally Acropolis, wich is a "normal" kind of rally but tough nonetheless.

The team only watches it, does not communicate with them during the ride. The co-driver on the passenger seat must constantly report the track schedule and the driver must concentrate on driving.
