It's not harassment to repeatedly call someone who owes you money and "hound" them for payment. Pay your damn bills!
It actually can be if you’re calling more than a certain number of times a day, and outside of business hours.
My daughter Babysat the neighbors 4 kids after school for a few hours. After delaying pay or paid by check that would bounce, we talked to the bank. The Banker told us to call in to see if there were funds to clear the check. She got paid and never Babysat them again.
Right because bill collectors would be in court constantly for harassment claims if that were the case!

It’s very expensive to board animals. You want a good one who is going to give your pet attention and time out of kennel. In my state doggy daycares are popping up EVERYWHERE lol. We love our dogs here 😊

@@stratfordbaby I’ve seen circumstances where someone boarded their dog for years. The person who owned dog was very wealthy and got Alzheimer’s. She had her dog boarded instead of giving it to family. It was cared for the rest of its life, and she was paid very well to do it.
Theft of services is on the rise. People think it's ok to stiff people that don't give you something "tangible" for your money. They feel less guilty and have less shame. The Defendant didn't even TRY to pay a MINIMUM amount. She outright stole her services and then tried to play the victim. Embarrassing.
The defendant is unemployed and had been for 7 or 8 years at the point this show was aired. She lives in a fantasy world!!

We owned a small business once upon a time. We had a good run at it for 20 years, but we were getting more and more of these people all the time. We finally closed it up and moved on with our lives.

How come you can get your dogs back from a boarder, even if you owe the boarder money, but when you take your car to a mechanic, if you owe them money for repair work, they won't give you the keys until your paid in full? I find this astounding.

I do not board my dogs. I pay a pet sitter to stay in my house 24/7 to take care of them when I go to a convention once a year. I can’t imagine being away from them for 6 months.

Yes they do. Pets are considered property, and they weren’t reported abandoned. They weren’t the boarder’s. I’m 100% NOT on the defendants side, but in defense of the cops, that’s all they could do.
@@BritPaun ok, so if a neighbor is building a fence (property) and a neighbor says it's on their property line, is the cop going to force them to take the fence down until it can be taken care of civilly?No. They would have to get a court order, or be heard in court, or get a survey and give to neighbors. If she'd reported them abandoned, they'd have been taken to the pound and solved nothing. She's still out 17k. Defendent engaged in a contract that she then breached. If someone goes to pick up their car and refuses to pay the bill, do the cops come and force the repair shop to give him his car? No.
@@16MedicRN1) cops absolutely will force a mechanic shop to give back a car when there’s a dispute over payment and 2) your fence scenario doesn’t apply to this case. The ownership of the land the fence is on is in dispute in that scenario; for a dog or car, ownership isn’t in dispute which is why the police will force the return of property to its rightful owner and say take them to court if you think you’re owed money
The kind of cops who were bored and needed to get unbored. Trouble making officers. Probably fired by now for what they did after plaintiff filed a complaint to their board.
@@16MedicRN if the fence is in the process of being built, they will be given a stop-work order until the property line issue can be resolved. Your scenario doesn’t really apply as a fence is a built, stationary structure, and the dispute is over the ownership.
Absolutely the mechanic would be forced to give back the car and resolve it exactly the same way this was.

Defendant was trying to cheat her way out of paying for 3 dogs for 6 months!! She decided that $7000 was enough and yelled and hollered hoping that’ll solve everything!! Nope lady! You gotta pay for the service, day in day out for 6 months for all 3 of your dogs. Scammer!

Under ANY CIRCUMSTANCE, after a certain amount of time without payment, the dogs are foreited to the kennel and they are lost. You don't get to continue CHARGING for the services. That's how it works. Just like at a storage unit or an impound yard. SAME PRINICIPLE. So she CANNOT SUE for $10K+ in boarding fees. She is unhinged.
