I am a user of LMMS, and I support it whole heartedly. Apart from being free, it is an open-source project.
yea but would you buy a open source toaster that doesn't toast?
yknow fl is kind of free
i said kind of because its only the trial thats free(luckily said trial is endless so you dont have to idk buy a license to keep using the daw before even getting proper finances to do it)
@@vannillaAJofficial204 Not fully free, because you need to pay to open saved projects.
@@joeplayzgames2625 you can bypass that by sending the flp to someone else that does have an fl liscense, have them resave it for you and they send the flp back to you
however its very unpractical because not everyone knows someone else with an fl license, but its the only way to go without either buying it yourself or... cracking
Which means the software devs literally make no money off their hard work. Congrats on creating a world even more hostile to creatives than it already is, and further egging on the vicious cycle 😤😤😤
Dudes be like "LMMS sucks" my brother you made the beat
right lmao, as an fl studio user the people out here saying "lmms sucks" are just incompetent and dont know how to use the software properly
@@Atomicitalia i'm bad at using the pc versions, i use the mobile version of FL :v
A truly good artist can make something beautiful no matter the tools they have
Right, it's not the vehicle, it's the pilot
@@red_draco3341 😂
@@red_draco3341 it's all about enemies
Yes, I once saw a street musician who made cool music with lots of junk. buckets and so on
I made a silly little song called "Automatic Self Harm" in lmms from fucking scratch and zero knowledge, I liked the results
LMMS. The first "real" DAW I've ever used.
I don't want to ever use it again, but you gotta remember your origin.
I don't think i'd call it a DAW in the first place LMAO
@@DogedaBeatZTrue that XD
@@NeonBeeCat FL Studio Mobile user here who has accidentally broken the app multiple times with too many tracks
LMMS is a composer's nightmare
Idk even how to get that shit to work
same bro
@@NeonBeeCat LMMS is really hard to get used to, i started producing in lmms and it lacks a lot of features that now i use a lot in fl, putting tracks in a mixer track was kinda complicated, there is no time stretching and all that crap so it was a headache making a beat in LMMS
I've been using LMMS for like 3 years now, and I can say that the beat the guy made with it is completely offset with how much you can actually do. And i know, thats the point, i'm just saying LMMS is actually really useful for everything.
I agree
ong. he put a bad name on something that costs $100 less
Same bro. Been using LMMS for 3 years too and this comment section just reveals how much percentage producers are just spoiled for having more feature onto their expensive DAWs
Still looks like dog piss
@@clark_johannes That's the point, though. If people can afford it, why the hell not? Why shouldn't they be "spoiled" when they can afford it?
If I'm going to pay $100 for a DAW, it better have features that's going to improve QoL, render times, default plug-ins, sample stretching, sound designing. And all of that in-house, without the use of any third party plugins. My preferred DAW, FLS, does just that.
I remember when I used LMMS back in 2007. Thing was limited as hell, couldn't do what I wanted to do. I stayed with it for 5-6 years. But I realized that if I needed to get serious with being a music producer and break into the market, I needed to invest in tools that'll improve my workflow. Thankfully, what you learn in any DAW is translatable to other DAWs so my switch to FL Studio was quick and easy, made easier by its streamlined UI. I had tried Reaper before FLS and while it was absolutely great, its much better as a recording DAW than a DAW where you jot things down note by note.
As a LMMS user I feel insulted.
same
Fr
Sí, obvio >:v
Same bruh
Beluga, except he has actual talent
and actually entertaining
There Is no beluga
Who is beluga and why does everyone hate him/her
since when did u compose
Belluga but actually funny
i currently use lmms and love it lmao
DAWs are like tools, if the end goal is a table and you use wrenches to put it together instead of hammers and the end result is a table that works, so be it
As your Average LMMS user
I do agree that it can be weird and sometimes worse than FL
But i strongly believe that with a small learning curve and patience, that its definitely possible to bring out some actual good Tunes, either with Soundfonts or actual VST's
As a former LMMS use, I agree.
Even with it's shortcomings, it's a really solid tool for making music, and the fact that it's free makes it a perfect DAW for a beginner
I love LMMS. I don't get all the hate tbh... All the tracks I have uploaded were made within LMMS.
@@datbootlegger i assume you use fl studio or some other paid software now.
im thinking of moving onto fl right now, but im not sure if its worth it. im not currently producing any professional music. while i hope i can make it my career some time in the far future, right now its just a hobby i do for fun. im not sure if the benefits of fl studio would be worth it, especially considering how used to lmms i am right now.
in your experience, how important would you say it is to upgrade to a paid daw? how significant are the benefits of fl studio compared to lmms? im sorry if this bothers you, but this question has been bugging me for a while now, and id like to put it to rest. any advice would be appreciated.
@@datbootlegger what do you use now
Absolutely. The native instruments are very powerful when you pair them with the right effects. Used it for a decade as my primary DAW and it's incredibly powerful when you know what you're doing.
1:23 dat beat is fire 🔥🔥🔥
ye boi
Getting that tracker vibes
@@alphafuse9079 Yeah! It gives me FastTracker II vibes
It reminds me of electronic music from the 2000s
Sounds like the background music from flash games
For my fellow artists, remember! It's usually not about the DAW, it's about the artist using the DAW
LMMS is perfect for me since I like to use a lot of weird synths that usually stem from plug-ins that are similar to the ones in LMMS. Plus the software is the only one that runs well on my absolute nugget laptop that I'm stuck with. A lot of my effects come from hardware rather than software so I just have to have a good base synth to build off of
PongPing
Used LMMS for years before picking up FL in like 2018. They're both good DAWs that are easy to use, but they've got some differences.
To be honest, LMMS seems shit when you first open it, but as you get better with those mechanics, it can actually be great DAW
Fact : There are chromatic scales that don't work for FL Studio for being too long, but they do on LMMS, Meaning that LMMS has more potentional on long stuff.
what??
Sure
Escalas Cromáticas en LMMS?
Cómo?! :0
I use Linux, and LMMS is the only one that works on there. LMMS is also free (as in freedom and cost) and open source software.
1:02 that actually sounds really good
So nostalgic seeing LMMS again, started out with it back in 2014. Now I use Cubase.
1:02 the beat🤤💗👍
If you've made this beat so you are the king of FL studio..
Love your content 🇵🇰
The projects shown at the end are the complex tune vs basic beat made within FIVE MINUTE. It does not show the limits of LMMS but different projects.
You forgot one thing: Absolutely non intuitive and messy interface FL Studio has.
SOMEBODY finally says it... As a beginner, the FL Studio interface feels so. so obtuse and unituitive, like it's not at all something you can just open up and figure out just from using it and messing around. You need a bunch of tutorials- yes there are loads of great ones, tons of resources, but ADHD. LMMS, I could figure out the basic just by playing with it. (for me it's like, once I kinda understand smth it's easier to focus and such n- yeah idk how to explain)
I love LMMS, and really really don't miss smashing my face into my desk from trying to use FL.
I use LMMS, and if you know how to use it you can end up with good results.
But you don't seem to know how to use it
@@zektaibeatz666 What do you mean?
I'm a Beluga fan, but never thought that a channel could talk about this music things. As a LMMS user, I agree that FL wins, but LMMS is god is you know how to use it well.
agree if you combine audacity with lmms it's a fire
0:59 that melody is sickkk🔥
I actually use lmms to make alot of music, it’s about powerful as fl when you really know about the daw
At least it has soundfont support so you can rip instruments from your fav video games.
fl studio does too now actually lol
@@Atomicitalia...It does? Since when??
@@chermal7311 since the first fl 21 update iirc. It's always had soundfont support, but before then it was only for the 32 bit version.
as someone who pretty much just composes as a small hobbyist by slapping Vital into LMMS and then exporting into Audacity for final touches... I'm not sure what to feel about this. Ironically, I have a free FL Studio on my computer, but I kid you not, the only times I ever open it up is to use its Tempo Tapper (I do remixes and knowing the BPM is quite useful). I refuse to learn another DAW, just like how I still use Windows Movie Maker and PowerPoint to make video edits lol
whatever works for you lol
DAW doesn't matters. The skill for making music matters.
BRUH THEY DID MY BOI DIRTY LIKE THAT (LMMS user here)
i need a full version of smudge's track
LMMS slander wont be tolerated. its how we all started
these are so fire oh my god. you should make one of these based on audiotool producers. man i don't miss that website but it was a solid foundation.
I started out on LMMS. You can definitely make some good stuff on it, it just takes a lot of time and effort.
i started out on bandlab. all i used was loops
Lmms is really good though. I haven't used the other DAWs, but I'm having an amazing time learning the ropes around this thing and creating music for the first time :)
It sure isnt better than fl studio, but it certainly isnt bad. it still gets updates, plus its open source. so im sure if they keep the project going, itll get better. i dont know if itll ever be able to beat fl studio though.
Ahh, LMMS. My first ever DAW before switching to Reaper.
When I got to try FLS, I saved up to get a copy. I still use Reaper for recording but I have never touched LMMS ever since I left it.
can i have the full version of the smudge's track, that sounds so freaking good
not gonna lie that lil LMMS eurotrance loop had me toe tappin
As a LMMS user, I think this video is really says the truth, it seems that there are no more advantage better than fl expect light and free.
Could I translate and share your videos? There are really funny
Good to see LMMS getting some recognition. I use it myself and it's awesome!
(Trust me it can do so much more)
1:23 that actually sounds pretty good
before fl, i exclusively used lmms and garageband… good times lol
Yeah, the most nostalgic comparison in my life :)
Btw, I made FL Studio 21 look like LMMS very much.
Maybe there are a lot of questions like : "why people still prefers fl studio?" FL studio is the most used DAW nowadays you can find millions of tutorials of how to use fl studio , I have tried to use LMMS once but is really hard the UI is not intuitive also there are not so many vids on UA-cam showing how to use LMMS so I still prefer fl studio , also I have tried logic pro x but is not so hard but in fl studio the UI is simple and intuitive to everyone
I've been having the opposite experience, believe it or not. To me, FL Studio felt so. so impossible to do anything with, like I had to know this and that and all this stuff from tutorials just to get some samples into midi. LMMS felt far more intuitive from a just messing around and figuring out perspective
I love the syncing outro
Nice. Hehe. Great video! It had me laughing. Great editing.
I really like LMMS, but I can't switch to FL Studio because my small brain can't figure it out
I used FL Studio for years, now I'm a Studio One user, gest try and you will see the magic happen in you'r eyes.
Next FL Studio vs. Cubase Pro?
Ey ey ey ey, LMMS is good XD
Hey there's a plugin in LMMS called vestige and it loads vst plugins.
Please tell me how you created that beat 1:23 I love it so much and want to complete it
indeed, it is not bad, it is just completely basic one can do in 3 or 5 minutes
I used FL Studio 12 when I was a Windows user, but now I use LMMS because I switched to Linux in 2020 (FL isn't available on Linux).
I'm literally reading your comment after FL Studio session on Linux
I use LMMS, it's very good
Same
as an LMMS user, its viable
1:02 i need that beat for my album😤
LMMS my first ever daw😭😂
January 27:
Waiting for FL Studio vs FL Studio Mobile
LMMS has a free SF2 player, therefore it is automatically based and FL Studio is uninhibitedly cringe.
I'm using lmms from last 3 years and u know what it its amazing and i still use it ... 💜
ok thanks for giving me this video
aint no way you gonna say spending 500 bucks on something your supposed to use with like 8 years of experience is really good and you just shit on lmms using a literal like 5 minute beat with the goddamn cringiest 2014 sounds ever
i love LMMS, its my first daw
try opening up an wav file to use it as an instrument in fl studio !
I tried to keep my tools open source, but I got Mixcraft 9 on sale, and liked making music, so I got fl studio also on sale. I can honestly say it’s much better than every single free daw I have ever tried. I also use it for general sound design for making games as well. Very good purchase imo, and lmms is awful. I was making a song in it once and it just sounded like crap no matter what I did. The mix of bad plugins and bad ui and confusing workflow make it a perfect system of bad
I think the best free daw I used was waveform free. It didn’t really come with plug-ins(it had a 4osc) but it had a very good workflow for what it was. Still think fl studio is a lot better.
im an fl studio user, lmms aint awful at all. if you cant make good music with it, thats completely on you. there are a ton of artists out there that use lmms with its stock plugins and you cant tell its lmms at all. i do agree lmms has a bit to work on in terms of its ui and workflow though.
@@Atomicitalia that could’ve been it, but lmms is very hard to start on tbh. You can do a lot with it if you have prior music knowledge.
@@-Name-here- yeah I can agree with that. then again, any daw is hard to start with. Ableton can be a bitch to start with. I used lmms just to test it out with my prior knowledge of FL so it was pretty easy to pick up
@@Atomicitalia yeah, that’s a good point
1:02
Beat kinda fire though ngl.
Make a FL studio VS BandLab
I’m using lmms on Ubuntu and I can’t even import VST so I’m going to see if someone can get me an actual software that’s cracked and switch to windows when I can
i used LMMS before, it was a gerat start, but i use fl studio now lol, will always still love lmms
...this is the video where I learn you can write in 3/4 in FL?
0:48 lord help me
Lmms changed my life 🙏🏻
You gotta tell me what plugins you’re using
Nerds be like:
Ermmm... actually, on the load times, he started LMMS's timer way early than FL Studio.
Can you try cakewalk?
I toggle back and forth between FL and LMMS and I can make good music in both of them
beluga but for music production
i will try it too thanks :D
nvm XD
Why not making a video about logic vs fl studio?
I LOVE OUTRO
1:03 can we get a full version of this....
Make FL Studio VS REAPER
next fl studio vs cockos reaper plz?
FL is a true classic 👌🏽
1:02 what music name?

Just need realistic vst because actually use only samplers
uses custom samples in fl
yet only uses built in stuff for lmms
probably spent like 30 minutes on the fl one because they're just an FL stan
spent at most half a minute on the lmms one
