There will never be another Ken "Snake" Stabler. I still regard him as one of the greatest NFL Quarterbacks of all time. Those games that changed the rules, those games with names, Holy Roller, and the Ghost to the Post. The big one, the Immaculate Reception would have never happened if Stabler didn't scramble for that touchdown late in the 4th quarter against Pittsburgh. The biggest thing about Stabler is he endeared himself to his teammates. He made damn sure he was one of them. He lived his life to the fullest. He faced down Bear Bryant and the Pittsburgh Steelers and he made him a spot in Football Lore. Absolute legend!
A friend's mother gave me her Freshman year Foley High School Annual that had Stabler's blown up Senior year football picture that he had signed and personalized, but it burned up in a house fire.
