is it common for yall to replace their pleated filter with a non pleated fiberglass filter that doesn't catch anything? Also is it common for them to use a wire brush possibly scarring the flame sensor and therefore lessening it's ability to produce microamps shortening its lifespan? I'm just giving constructive criticism to help with better practices. He did great all around and extra points for being informative and transparent with the customer. You have a really good tech there.
Yes, I too was surprised they use a wire brush on the flame sensor. Another YT video showed the same thing. I just keep a spare handy and replace when it fails.
This was an A/C service call. I was surprised he cleaned the flame sensor and checked the igniter. That typically would be done in a furnace maintenance call.

No combustion test to see the percentage of CO, on the furnace? No check to see if there is proper combustion air? Some basic things were missed.
