Can't wait for this one. I've had a miserable time fishing these last few weeks. Barely any hits on the SPs, still only new to them so unsure if its the cold weather or me being clueless.
Nice fishing Steve you did well. Finesse tactics, head wind and judging by those clouds a change in barometric pressure coupled with cold water and still pulled some cracking fish.
G'day Starlo. Really enjoyed that video. I'm heading up the coast to one of your favourite tassie north east coast estuaries soon! What knot do you use for light braid to leader?
@StarloGetsReel scent really isn't "bait" though. It's not the primary attractant. It's not even really tangible, except for the bottle of it. A photo of your lure would show no "bait". In a way I hate those rules and regulations. I suppose because my dad was a Lawyer.
Hey starlo I’ve been luderick fishing latley 2 hook rig both weed one with sfactor and the sfactor has been out fishing natural weed.I was wondering your thorts on useing sfactor on the green weed fli.
I haven't used a specific cheb rig with all the right bits and pieces, but it fishes very similarly to the sinker-in-the-loop-knot weedless rig that I've used a lot up north on barra and saratoga and a little down south on bass, etc. It's definitely something I'll be doing more of, with a video to come at some stage.
Nice one mate, some great fish there! Good to see you're still getting big fish down there, that one I caught with you is still my biggest bream by a mile.... :)
@@jackmorris942 the softie is easy: an 80 or 100mm Squidgy Wriggler in Bloodworm! The hard-body is a bit tougher as it very much depends on water depth… and my favourites seem to change from season to season! That Atomic Crank I used in Part 1 of this Masterclass is deadly and versatile, as is the Jackall Chubby, but you’ll need both shallower running and deeper running hards to cover all options, as well as some surface lures (my current favourite is the Shimano Ligen) and some “critters” like Cranka Crabs and Muss’ Vibes… and so it begins… an ever-expanding collection! 🤣
Yep. Probably need two anglers fishing side by side for a good comparison. I fished both styles in Part 1, but put more time in with the hard bodies. Over the longer run and across a range of scenarios, I'd be backing the soft plastics. ;)
@@redtobertshateshandles for sure, although probably better suited to vertical presentations in slightly deeper water. It’s a technique not used enough in Australia.
Thanks for sharing your wisdom Starlo.
My pleasure! Thanks for watching. 👍
Starlo, still the squidgy king ! How is Bushy going ?
He’s going great and catching plenty of fish!
Great vid Starlo. I find the hit on a hard body generally harder.
For sure!
Nothing settles the brain before bed like seeing starlo give us a masterclass, legend 🫡🍻
Thanks! 👍👍👍
Great tips Starlo

Thanks mate, nice session. Cheers. Oh nice to hear of bushy doing well. Thanks mate.

GEAR USED IN THIS EPISODE: Shimano Anarchy 6102 Ultra Light Spin rod, Shimano Vanford 1000 reel, Kairiki 6 pound braid, Ocea FC 6 pound leader, Squidgies Wriggler Tail Prawn, 2 gram jig head (old -school Squidgy Round Head).

Great video Steve thankyou 👍🎣
Glad you enjoyed it!
Nice one Starlo. This would have been a great place to show off weedless soft plastics. Much better than a regular SP in weedy places.
True enough. 👍

Just magic country down there mate! Superb!
Excellent couple of vids on lure fishing top stuff Steve 👍🏻
Thanks for that. Yes, great part of the world but very cold at present!

Sounds great! Good luck. My favourite connection knot is the FG, but I often fall back in the good ol’ Double Uni when out on the water.
Hey staro another great video, do u use scent for trout
Thanks! Yes I do, at least where I’m allowed to. Its legality in designated fly-and-lure only waters is a bit unclear, so I don’t use it in those.

Wow! That’s interesting. I rarely use it in natural baits but I’m definitely going to give that a try! 👍

Starlo, have you ever used a Cheb rig? I’ve mostly switched to Chen and Texas rigs over Ned heads and conventional jig heads

I wish! Unfortunately not. ;) Thanks for watching.
Great video Starlo !
If you had to choose one soft plastic and one hardbody to catch a black bream , what would they be and what colour ?

starlo, bushy and rexy the aussie trifecta in fishing 👌

Hey starlo quick question do you know if bio tough squidgies will be back ?
I don’t think so. I believe the material simply became too expensive.
Starlo, I got a feeling you’re using epidemic sound? I used that first song on my channel too
Sure am! Love it. 👍
Hey starlo you should do a part 3 where you do harbody vs softplastics on the same day in the same areas and see which one comes out on top🤙

@@catchandreleasefisbingnsw I agree!
Would "drop shotting" not be a tactic for the weedy area ??
The plastic would be whatever distance you want above the weed.
