@@flygirl1212 Thanks for watching, are you referring to the foot pedal that allows you to shift the position of the umbrella or are you talking about the shaft cover that is slid onto the shaft and placed directly over where the two parts meet.
I've looked at best choice umbrella's. However, I don't see any products with that square base per say. Only the round one which I don't like as well and a solid square base. Does the solid square base filled with water weigh more than your 4 separate square bases seeing as how the solid one looks to be twice as high as the 4 squares that you used.

Hey, thanks for answering. It's new, yes. Wlhen I push the pedal nothing happens, and now that I've had a chance to re-watch and look at my own, I'm wondering if it's possible that I've got the second set of four screws (step 3) in too tight? Maybe that would stop it from rotating? It doesn't seem like the most probable option, but I'm at such a loss.
This umbrella sucks. Go to Amazon look specifically at the 1 star reviews notice the dates...all very current. 17% 1 star reviews 62% 5 star. Total 1912 reviews....closest competitor has 300 something. What does that tell you? They either sell a ton of defective umbrellas or the 5 star reviews are falsified. I asked them to please give me more then 30% refund due to out of warranty and now all I have is a pile of useless trash. I warned them I will be posting reviews and notifying Amazon, Better Business Bureau and Consumer Affairs. Yet, I heard nothing back. Now I’m motivated more than ever to get this product off the shelf so to speak.
I'm sorry if you received a lemon, but I absolutely love ours...seems solid, very easy to use (and we have been using it almost every day), not to mention the shade coverage is amazing. I hope I don't jinx myself, but it has been the best purchase if the summer

Hi great video! I want to purchase but I REALLY need to know if the umbrella part swings all over in the window by itself?
He top part of my umbrella swings all the way to the side and flips I have to buy and find one that only turns if I want it to lol..

Ours is great! Owned for a year and it stayed covered outside during the winter.
Just bought one has been great all summer
