this is a great resource for introducing an unbeliever to the gospel of Jesus Christ. a young person might be more likely to watch a video than start reading the bible.
Thank God for giving you the wisdom, knowledge, understanding, for making this Biblical Movie which covers so much of His Most Beautiful Creations. I can’t express enough how much I enjoy this movie; however, why wasn’t the King James Holy Scriptures used. They both would complement each other immensely. The King James Holy Scriptures are Infallible, Preserved, Inerrant, and Inspired.
Thank you for your kind words. As for why KING of GLORY uses a current-English translation of Scripture instead of the King James Version (published in 1611 and revised in 1769), it is because, in producing KING of GLORY, our goal is to communicate God’s story and message as clearly as possible to our worldwide audience of all ages, many of whom know little or nothing about the biblical scriptures. Though I understand the King James language (I grew up memorizing scripture from the KJV), most people who watch and listen to this movie are not familiar with its 17th century English, which uses terms like “thee” and “thou” (instead of you), or “ass” (instead of donkey), “paps” (instead of breast or chest), “astonied” (instead of astonished), “conversation” (instead of citizenship or manner of life), “Holy Ghost” (instead of Holy Spirit), sometimes calling the Holy Spirit an “it” instead of He, etc. While God's revelation in the original languages of the biblical Scriptures is perfect, when it comes to TRANSLATING those Scriptures into other languages (like English) there are many word choice options. What we do know is that we, as ambassadors for Christ, are responsible before God to present the gospel as clearly as possible (Colossians 4:3-4; Luke 24:25-32), which, for this movie production project, included using a translation that is in today's English. The Lord Jesus said, “Do to others as you would have them do to you.” If I didn’t know God’s story and message, I would want to hear it in my heart language -- which is why we are producing KING of GLORY in so many languages -- and which is why we use a current-English translation. By the way, in my book, ONE GOD ONE MESSAGE (2007) www.One-God-One-Message.com it may interest you to know that I used the NKJV (New King James Version), which is the KJV revised in 1981 (current English). How blessed we are to have so many excellent TRANSLATIONS of God's Word to choose from in English! P.D. Bramsen, writer, KING of GLORY book/script (2011) www.King-of-Glory.com
