I have been hunting from the saddle for a few years now. I have changed back to a traditional hang on setup after this season. I have had missed out on several deer over the past 3 seasons and a few were pretty good bucks. What I have figured out for filming hunts is having a tree right in front of me makes it difficult to film and shoot at the same time. Also there is no way to spin around a tree without getting busted when they are close. I have been busted numerous times this past season. I feel like with a traditional stand it is easier for me to shoot and easier for me to get tucked into cover. With that being said thanks for another great video.
I agree I stand the same way been caught to many time the other way. I also put my tether over my shoulder to get a little stability as well.
I want to hear more from you hunting out of leaning trees. It’s the reason I couldn’t shoot like I wanted (or be on the side of the tree that I wanted) because you’re a plumb bob, and standing is one thing, but drawing and shooting without swinging around to the low side is another. Gravity always wins lol.
That’s how I hunt from a saddle. I have messed up on a few bucks twisting around and then being caught when the deer changes directions within range. I now use the platform like a treestand for short hunts or when I have time to adjust for the incoming deer. Thanks for the content and podcast!

A way to keep from sticking out like a sore thumb is to sit in a tree has two or more trunks coming up.
