I enjoy them more than modern cars and own an older car. Modern turbo cars and EVs can be way more likely to crash with how overpowered they are even on new rubber.

Mine was a year older widow-maker than yours and had the 4 speed which showed an indicated 96 mph in 2nd gear! 😆 (88mph in reality) Best memories EVER was take off on a straight and it always reminded me of taking off in a light aircraft as it bumped down the tarmac without changing up to 3rd! Ok today uve got sub 0-60’s in less than 3 seconds, but nearly 40 years ago this baby was King…… except in the wet on a tight bend and the turbo kicked in at 3500 revs! 😳 Used to frighten the s**t outta both me and it’s occupants, but l was like you pinched myself everyday l drove it 🙂 ps. I sold it in 1989 and brought a Carrera 4, which l thought was the mutts-nuts till l found it’s Achilles heel……understeer!! ☹️

This was body, electrical and engine (Mechanical) being 16 I turned it down. He was not as famous as Singer, but still brought life into those cars. I one day will have a C2 1980 5dpeed. He was a great guy George R.I.P 2008
My dad bought a 1984 Carrera a year ago, and i've been lucky enough to drive it on multiple occasions. Such a fantastic car to drive, everything is analogue, the steering is manual, the transmission has long throws, and the clutch is springy, but once you learn how to drive it, you get why people put these cars on a pedestal.
