Even if some of the elements in this video may be outdated, his willingness to define basic terms and never take for granted that the viewer just knows certain things is what makes this course truly exceptional. I also love the whiteboard aesthetic and the way you draw on the pictures of things to illustrate what you're talking about with different components. This is a great supplemental course imo.

Im currently in IT program and most of whats being taught here is what they teach in class currently. I really like the main person whose teaching and the way he teaches is helping me digest all the material better and this is an excellent review for what I'm learning in school. The second teacher with a British accent is not the best - reminds me of my current teacher who just reads off of the Powerpoints rather than going more in depth - hence this is why I am so happy to find this video. For those who are saying this is outdated and not for 1101/1102 - its not true and to disregard this whole video isnt right either because 90-95% of the video is part of 1101/1102 just need to remove the Floppy Disk, Tape Disk stuff (those parts I just skipped over since we did not study them in class). I just want to say thanks for the informative video and whoever this main teacher is, I hope he does more videos!

I am currently going through CompTIA's curriculum. And frankly, the curriculum isn't great. Thanks to this video, a lot of the CompTIA material makes sense now. So to prep for the 1101 exam, I am going through this video and running practice tests from Jason Dion on Udemy. This video lines up fairly well with CompTIA's materials for the current exam.
I've only found two things that haven't followed the CompTIA curriculum: 1) CompTIA no longer talks about floppy disks, and 2) the 'continuity tester" that he talks about in the cabling tools section appears to be what CompTIA calls a "cable tester" (just a different term).

Alot of it is the same but they no longer reference Windows 7 like they did in 1001 and 1002. When it comes to 1101 and 1102 it references more on windows 10/11. Now just be aware, this is a descent course, but the one thing that this course won't cover is PBQ's. "Performance Based Questions" which are: You read the scenario given, and you have to select the correct answers from a dropdown menu and may include drag and drop of how to setup a server and matching how it all connects together to a network, or maybe even checkboxes of how to troubleshoot a mobile device required to reference what the Scenario is asking of you. Those can be indepth so I'd recommend looking into PBQ practice quizzes and Practice tests in general. Those will help alot! Overall about 80-85% of it is the same, so you can really reference alot of stuff here and carry it over to the Newer exams but when it comes to Windows and some newer technologies you may need to research more in windows 10/11. Also, The exam doesn't ask very direct questions. Quite a few can be tricky the way they word the question and they also like to throw in alot of "Fluff" like: John with his Shiny Green T shirt while holding his important TV Remote tried to Turn on his PC but the lights didn't illuminate nor would the PC Turn on. What is most likely the issue? While this isn't exactly a question on the test but they throw in extra nonsense, so You have to watch for the Key phrases in the question itself. That's how they made the test. So do alot of practice testing too before going for the actual test itself. Best of Luck!

I appreciate that he compiled all of these teaching materials into a single video with chapters in the description for us to watch and learn from but hopefully Paul can take a lesson from Josh in how to teach some of the new material. Over 22 hours into watching this marathon of videos. I enjoyed the content overall. The American speaker (although his teaching is geared toward the antiquated technologies) he is thorough in his explanations. Anytime the British speaker talked, I had his voice x2 speed. He was quite the bore! As a point of constructive critic going forward, don't confuse `i.e.` with `e.g.`. The former, id est, which is Latin for “that is" provides the audience with a parallel similar to "in other words". The latter, exempli gratia, meaning “for example” provides a real world application. I personally made that mistake for a number of years myself.

A+ is refreshed every 3 and a half years and so, and this course is from the very early 2010s (windows 8 was mentioned as a new OS, so this was filmed in 2012 at latest) - that means that this course is probably three versions behind! you're wasting your time by watching this
