Joe Yuele on "Blues Deluxe" with John Guregian

Joe Yuele, a drummer with a remarkable 50-year career, spent 25 years as the driving force behind John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers. Starting with a childhood surrounded by music, influenced by his father's guitar playing and bugle instructing, Joe's drumming journey began at 13. Inspired by Gene Krupa and Buddy Rich, he embraced various music styles. His adventurous move from Massachusetts to Los Angeles at 16 led to a career filled with unique experiences. From playing with Albert Collins and Dobie Gray to his 25-year stint with John Mayall, Joe's career included memorable moments like performing behind the Iron Curtain and participating in the 70th birthday concert featuring Eric Clapton, Buddy Whittington and Mick Taylor.

Sad to hear John Mayall is not well now with the dreaded Dementia? I have been a fan since 65 and seen him many many times over the years including many times with Joe here too, I’m very much in touch with Buddy Whittington too🙏
