Big efforts on the performance, GGW. Every team has a transition period of growing pains where new dancers are onboarded, transitioned, and adapting to the style and expectations. The performance, compared to those from GGW in prior years, exemplifies this. This doesn't take away efforts these dancers put in, but in my opinion, at least establishes that operating a successful bhangra team is a dynamic process. Anywho, I enjoyed the dancing elements in this set quite a bit - there was a good variety in choreography and excellent ingenuity in the makeup of multiple segments. There are several areas of improvement, I feel. For instance - dancing errors. We don't see many dance errors on stage anymore with increasing emphasis on "execution" and "sync" in judging rubrics, so I was slightly surprised to see multiple errors in this set. I think this was a symptom of a bigger problem: possibly rushing into performing on stage. This was manifested in various ways, such as in the significant variations of dancing styles and in points of emphases on moves. Energy, in the same realm, was not consistent among dancers. There were a few moments where dancers were able to recover (i.e. jhoomer), but still subsequent segments did not show strong spikes in energy and josh. I expect with improvements in onboarding dancers to expected levels of sync, energy, uniformity in style, GGW should bounce back to how they typically perform. Good luck on the future and hope to see further growth and success for this team!
