Hi. I just got a message from who I thought was from switch up saying that I’d won a prize. I stupidly thought it was legit until they told me I had to pay a shipping charge that cost about $200. Just thought I’d make you aware.
Great to hear it’s a good sequel! First game was a bargain at £15, hugely surprised by how good it was. Definitely picking this one up! Awesome work on the review code from Ubisoft, you guys are moving up in the world! 👏🏼
@@redcrimson1028 they made sequel because this game sell well. I know that 2 milion copies is too low for Nintendo but for Ubisoft this is good selling game.
I was so pleasantly surprised when I played the first game, and hearing that this is an improvement over that really gets me excited to play Sparks of Hope. What's really cool about all of this is the fact that this is a ubisoft game, and will probably go on sale 30 seconds from now. I can't wait!

I am so happy that this lives up to the hype. I was a massive fan of the first game and I was eagerly waiting for the sequel. Excellent review mates keep up the great work.
Fantastic review yet again Mark!! I adored Kingdom Battle, so definitely will pick up Sparks of Hope (might even get the gold edition in prep for its upcoming DLC even though it's currently £65 😬. Let's go Rayman!)

Wonderfully written review Mark and it's always great seeing how far you guys have come! I adored the first and have said many times how it's one of thr few games in my life that I have 100% completed- DLC and everything. One quick question if you can answer- a thing I've noticed in all footage is that the weapons are the same throughout. @@SwitchUpYt Thanks Mark, was just something that struck me as odd as some of the weapons in the first game were brilliant gags or throwbacks- glad it adds to gameplay this way though
Mario Rabbids was the only turn based game I enjoyed playing not a fan of turn based games in general. I have been looking forward to Sparks of hope since the first time I seen it. Great review! A big fan of Ubisoft on the switch Immortals Fenyx Rising and Rayman are also great games.
Was blown away that this is now your favorite strategy rpg. I liked the first one, but it was not good enough to get me excited about the sequel. Your review, however, does get me excited about it. Might have to wait till Christmas as Persona will be this week’s purchase.
Ive watched a ton of reviews of Mario Rabbids Sparks of Hope on UA-cam and yours is the best. So thorough, so informative with clearsegments like gameplay, sound, visuals, value , etc etc and scores for each category FANTASTIC! I will make sure to watch your reviews first for any review I look for in the future! Also game length, price, thank you for that! Also, voice delivery and script if really good for this review !
I like that you added a graphic for how much time you've spent on the game at the time of review. If that's not a permanent feature, I would like it to be!
Damn I'm so excited for this game now! I decided to preorder this one after all because there was a hecking cute steelbook as preorder bonus, so I'm glad that it's actually as good as it looked 😅 Thank you for the review, as always! Also, one question: what I loved about the first game was that you could completely change the abilities of the group before every battle (like switching points out for different abilities, like wider walking range for specific missions). Is that also possible in this one as well?
Happy to see you can change difficulty to hard, and you can pick who you want at the start. Def going to pick this up now and I had not planned on it. Thanks!
Great review of what sounds like a wonderful follow-up to a delightful game! I've had my copy preordered from the day it was announced. I can't wait for it to arrive this week! Of course, I also have Persona 5 Royal coming... a true conundrum. What do you think about which I should play first?
Hey SwitchUp, just wanted to say we really admire your channel, and seeing your quality content has in many ways inspired our own show. :) We’ve even started to branch out more and ask for review codes (including for this one, which Ubisoft just sent us!). So thank you for proving it’s possible to follow your dreams!
Loved the first game, so I was getting this one no matter what, but it's great to hear it's as good as I was hoping it would be, if not better. Thanks for the review!
Great review! The game is looking so good, the puzzles and exploration on the first game were one of my favorite things, I wasn't expecting this when I started to play! Thanks for the video!
Loved the combat in the first game, but I never finished it as I absolutely loathed all the overworld stuff. This seem to address my every gripes. A day one buy for sure.
This may well be the best series Ubisoft is currently working on, as they struggle to get back the joy we felt with some of the earlier Assassin's Creed titles. I'll be picking this up, but it's gonna be in my backlog for a while though, because Persona 5 Royal is a *massive* game.
So this is basically the Super Mario RPG sequel I've been looking for - except it's tactical. So like waiting for Final Fantasy 8 and getting Tactics. I'm into it. I didn't really care for the first game because it felt too much like a mobile game - or like a proof of concept. I like your wording better.
As a huge Switchup fan and Mario+Rabbids fan I was really eager for this review. HOWEVER.. when it comes to audio I feel like a very important Googly eyed elephant in the room wasn't addressed, and that is the SOUNDTRACK. This game literally is poised to have one of the heaviest hitting soundtracks in VG history due to the pedigree of the three composers, Grant Kirkhope, Shimomura(sp?), and Gareth Coker, so it really is an odd choice to not include that into the calculus...
I LOVED this game. It just has a slow start but once you unlock the powerups and characters it is so much fun. I can't believe I even liked rabbid princess.
Thanks for the quick review. Quite enjoyed the first game even more than the first-party Mario games on Switch. Have this in my Amazon cart. I need it in physical form Just waiting for the expected Ubisoft discount around Black Friday. One question: can we switch out Mario from the team selection screen or are we stuck with him as in the first game?
Sooo good to hear your opinion, since it's on sale now and I HAD to get that one. The first one kinda made me lose interest after a couple of hours into it, so I was really hoping they'd improve on the exploration side of things. And it seems that this is the sequel I've been hoping for! Love your work! ❤🔥

I was at a Ubisoft Launch Event of this game Thursday in Copenhagen. Actually a nice event and a got to plushies with the yellow/gold spark and Ubisoft branded water haha
I still need to finish the first one with DLC, but this looks so much fun! Playing with one of the characters seems a small addition but it looks much better. In the first game all characters are walking like a train after Beep-O will looks very weird. Moving away from the chess kind of mechanic anymore free move looks much better! Definitely going to play this one as it’s on sale right now. Thanks for the detailed review, much appreciated ❤
dismayed with not online 1 on 1 matches. That would have been awesome!, but I can't wait to play it. Typically I am not too good at these kinds of games and my last favorite was Gears Tactics.
Still haven't finished the first one but only because I don't have lots of time to play games with 2 kids. I actually love the first game. It's fun. This one looks even better. Thanks for the review.
I just haven't been able to get into turn based strategy type games, more into action combat. I would give it a try if there was a demo or someone I know had the game. I don't have the money to just roll the dice and hope it would be a exception. Great review though.
Yeh definite for me, I find X-Com too much, I don’t want to do that base stuff, just the combat please. Mario Vs Rabbids really hit the spot, glad your review confirms the sequel is worthy.
Depends on your Bayonetta 3 review. What's up with Nintendo's release schedule. Nothing then Bayonetta 3, this game and Pokémon Violet/scarlet all in the same month.
@@SwitchUpYt So Mark, I've been playing this game for the past couple of days and man, you were spot on with your review! I'm absolutely loving this game!!! Thanks again!
I have a funny story with that game. I am in Armenia now, so there aren't many videogame shops here. However, as I have my switch with me, I wanted to buy Mario Kart 8. I've been in a small shop and didn't have much time so I accidentally bought Mario Rabbids Sparks of hope instead of Mario Kart... And found out that mistake at home. And I played it... And this game turned out very very cool! I enjoyed it really and kinda am happy with my mistake. I mean, I've got Mario Kart later anyways, but Rabbids are really cool.
This actually looks better than expected, and not because it's a 3rd party game - 3rd party studios have been making better Switch games than Nintendo for years. I do love the rabbids, but will wait to see people playing with teams of Rabbids only (to make sure it's possible) before grabbing a copy myself.
I love luigi in the first one. He had the sniper so i would place him high up and he just snipes everyone. He's definitely very useful. I hope he's as good here as in the first one.
I played the first game a bit, but kinda forgot about it. I didn't think much about this game, but I will have to pick it up based on your recommendation.
You know it's time for nintendo to come out with a new switch when you see them push the graphics in games like this. I'm considering picking this up as I own the 1st mario and rabbids game. Thank you for the review. 💯👾
I just played the first game a couple weeks ago and found it an enjoyable, fluid take on an XCOM style tactics game, but kind of dull in how simple and rigid everything felt. Watching this, it's genuinely baffling seeing how much further they've pushed beyond the bare bones set by the first in basically every regard. I'm hoping this will eventually go on relatively deep sales like the first did; in either case, I'll almost certainly give it a shot someday.
I'm very excited to play this, but have to resist it until I can buy a Gold Edition for $15 in a year or two. The first one goes on sale often enough that I'm sure it'll happen.
Can't wait for this. I'm glad they changed a few things. I replay kingdom battle recently and I just remembered how hard it was. And I can't wait to experience this sequel and see how different it is. I hooe this becomes a series and we see more of mario snd Rabbids games on the future
Will a sequel finally compel me to get into this series, let's find out...odd having a Mario game where you can't jump but besides that, it actually looks like a pretty damn good game
I played the game and the dlc's all in hard mode and it still was possible, some of the secret bosses were very hard because of the big amount of Hp but not impossible
I am not a fan of these types of games because i am not very good at them. but I played the first game and beat it at least 5 times and loved it. this is one I was very interested in because of how many times I came back for the first one. So eventually a will definitely buy this.
As someone who didn't play the first game and is watching this out of curiosity, I have to say my interest took a nose dive when you mentioned that you can't jump. A Mario game where you can't jump just feels... wrong.
Well October 2022 really is an expensive month with all the interesting games having good to very good reviews...Nier, No man sky, Rabbids, and persona 5 royal. Now, I wonder what will be Bayo 3 score (minus the controversy)
I HATE HATE HATE these turn based battle games but I couldn’t help but fall for the first game so if this one is even better like everyone says then I’m def getting it!!
Having played the first version 10 times over. I have been waiting for this to come out! Love these types of games and super excited to grind this out on normal and hard 🥰👍🏼💪🏽❤️ #mariorabbits #ubisoft #gametime
whoa!! The last time a game got 20/20 for gameplay was Fez, but that was still a port of a pre-existing game. This must be a real deal. Gonna buy this as soon as I finish Kingdom Battle. P.S: Eagerly waiting for your P5R review
Despite all the rave reviews, I'm actually worried about this one. It seems like a lot of the compliments are "it completely changes everything from the first game and it's fun!" But big open worlds, dungeons and freely moving during combat are none of the things that made the first enjoyable to me. I do want sequels to innovate but it just seems almost like a completely different game series or something.
Well this was a fun time! Let me know what you think of this line - I am really impressed with what they’ve come up with! Mark

Looks fun. Going on my wishlist though, because Persona 5.
You guys should do a Video with your SwitchUp Essential games list. Or start adding that as a badge or something to reviews.
Lmao, now let's wait for them to rehabilitate minions instead.
Tbf, the first game still has performance dips in some areas too. Great to see that this sequel is worth getting
Great review thanks switch up. Will def be picking this up now.
Absolutely loved the first game! Not gonna pay the full price for this however. Ubisoft always puts their games on huge sales soon after launching. 😄
Will a sequel finally compel me to get into this series, let's find out...odd having a Mario game where you can't jump but besides that, it actually looks like a pretty damn good game
You can jump in combat.
when you said hard mode will humble you I sighed a relief because I like hard games
Cant wait to play this, had a voucher waiting for a while for this to come out!! Loved the first one, mario meets xcom best mash up ever.
I played the game and the dlc's all in hard mode and it still was possible, some of the secret bosses were very hard because of the big amount of Hp but not impossible
can't wait to play this, i stopped playing the first game after a few hours but this looks alot better
"Let's-a find out" 😂
I am not a fan of these types of games because i am not very good at them. but I played the first game and beat it at least 5 times and loved it. this is one I was very interested in because of how many times I came back for the first one. So eventually a will definitely buy this.
I never play any of the big titles like Zelda, Mario, or Sonic but this does look great
Just pre-ordered this. Thank you for the reveiw. First game was surprisingly great, but i am weary of sequals. Thank you for putting my mind at ease!
As someone who didn't play the first game and is watching this out of curiosity, I have to say my interest took a nose dive when you mentioned that you can't jump. A Mario game where you can't jump just feels... wrong.
Thanks for the review - will definately pickup!
This looks fantastic, do you need to play the first?
Well October 2022 really is an expensive month with all the interesting games having good to very good reviews...Nier, No man sky, Rabbids, and persona 5 royal. Now, I wonder what will be Bayo 3 score (minus the controversy)
The first game is really good, I need to go back and finish it, and I will pick this one up on sale someday I'd imagine
Can’t help but notice you can have bowser as a team member. That’s cool I’m in
Got the first one when it first came out and loved it! Will be picking this one up now too!
Now its time, rayman there’s HOPE For You Too!
I will def be picking this up once it’s down to $20 in 6 months
I HATE HATE HATE these turn based battle games but I couldn’t help but fall for the first game so if this one is even better like everyone says then I’m def getting it!!
Having played the first version 10 times over. I have been waiting for this to come out! Love these types of games and super excited to grind this out on normal and hard 🥰👍🏼💪🏽❤️ #mariorabbits #ubisoft #gametime
This is a highly anticipated release for me! I can't wait to play it.
Time to add this to the backlog.
whoa!! The last time a game got 20/20 for gameplay was Fez, but that was still a port of a pre-existing game. This must be a real deal. Gonna buy this as soon as I finish Kingdom Battle.
P.S: Eagerly waiting for your P5R review
Would be lovely to play Day 1 but Ubisoft tends to put their products on sale within the first 3 months. I can wait
I'm very excited to play this game, but knowing Ubisoft, if I wait a month it'll be €5.
When Ubisoft is more consumer friendly then Nintendo.
@@pixelcount350 honestly yeah, Switch tax is absolutely no joke. I can understand why some people have resorted to YUZU etc.
