The problem is not coming from LaVar, the problem is Lonzo. Walton has the support of all the other Laker players. He was extremely successful and popular with the players at Golden State. Lonzo, for whatever reason, decided to pout for a month, didn't put in effort on the court, and the Lakers got off to a ragged start. Apparently he whined to his dad, who maybe even sat on Lonzo's complaints for awhile, who knows? But the likelihood is that Lonzo never complained directly to Walton, and instead went the route of passive aggressiveness, dogging it on the court. If he did speak directly to Walton, he gave him about as much respect as we would expect of a child of LaVar Ball...

Other players who are balling out deserve this amount of attention he is receiving. Seriously, I hear this question it feels like at least once a week. Let's all be clear on one thing. Lonzo is not worthy of the #2 pick. Worthy to be in lottery but not top 5 or even top 3. His shooting is pretty bad, he plays soft, his on ball defence is mediocre, he kinda stat pads, he plays over 30 minutes to barely average 10 points. But he can improve. He's 20 for God sake. I don't think he will be a star and will probably become a role player but look at what Rondo does with the Pelicans. He averages double digit points and double digit assists I believe in less minutes than Lonzo and he is purely a role player. He plays his role and sets his teammates up. Only difference is, he is severely underlooked Rondo is. Lonzo is severely overhyped and overlooked and my guess is that he will be a Pelicans Rondo for his career. A guy who will average low points but have high assists and high rebounds. That's just my look at it

Jayson Tatum is arguably the best in the draft, and the argument is with Donovan Mitchell and not with Lonzo, so of course they should regret picking him. Lonzo is a good player, 10/7/7 is a great average for a point guard, especially a rookie. That doesn't mean that LA shouldn't wonder what they could be like if they drafted Tatum. They would have Tatum and the Celtics wouldn't, the Celtics wouldn't have taken Lonzo because they don't need a pg at all and they would have Josh Jackson probably and he wouldn't help much because they already have a better version of Jackson in Jaylen Brown.

As much as I hate Whitlock, his last few words make 100% sense. ESPN printed something KNOWING there was nothing to back the claim and didn't care. So in that sense, ESPN might as well take their news from Bossip, The Enquirer, etc. You are letting a figure who isn't IN the Lakers organization say things that are very personal towards their coach. How is THAT ok, but at the same time, Magic wanted D'Lo gone for "violating locker room trust"...but THIS is ok? Lavar can have an opinion, but when it's just being done to create a buzz for himself and to push his personal agenda for his pocket and to promote his son, then why would a sports media network help push that narrative? I know De'Aaron Fox's family personally, and his Dad was as big a talker as Lavar and even he shows respect for his son by staying out of the media....this whole thing has gotten out of control at this point.
