Yeah the turn was just a little far into her stroke
I feel awful “criticising” a WR swim (well done Gretchen 💪🏽) but yes, the turn could be improved as there was a glide/stretch to the wall. Also, she breathed every stroke, right? Would her head being down on the final 2 or 3 strokes to the finish have knocked any time off? AMAZING swim though, bravoz
@@markgrainge8198 She breathed every stroke for a reason = she already was losing speed and losing oxygen. With her extreme flexibility breathing every stroke is OK
its easy to suggest while laying on bed why dont you go out and try to break record by fast turn

That's an absolutey massive gap in swimming when it's over just 100m. 1.5 seconds is basically an eternity

Didn't any judge notice the length of her fingernails? This gives her a pulling advantage over the other swimmers. At this level of competition, that makes a difference. At the next Olympics, I wouldn't be surprised to see her back with long nails.
