@@DougerSR I sold some of my real estate and invested in Lincoln. The people are great. The state is beautiful but really flat. When the coastal areas go pop, there will still be a decent economy in Nebraska.
I’m from Scotland so I can’t comment much, but just from looking at the greenery there, it’s such a beautiful sight. I used to think America was like London, one big concrete jungle apart from certain places but this looks so beautiful
I don’t know who the person is who did the video but they’ve never been here. The state itself is big on cattle, that is true, and we owe that distinction to a Scot. I forget his name but he started in Wyoming and figured out that the Nebraska grasslands were absolutely the best for cattle. Hereford and Angus breeds in particular, which I believe originated in England and Scotland. Thank you for Scotland’s contribution to our State.
@@Stumme-40203 It's okay. It's a big country and I cannot expect everyone to know about how often I get killed. I moved away from Lincoln to St. Louis, MO. Man was that a mistake! I get murdered in cold blood every day here. I keep thinking, could we like brutally maim me for a change? But no! It has to be straight up murder, sometimes for something as minor as just existing. The people at the city morgue are getting really tired of seeing me
I've lived in Lincoln more than once and it was because the people there are adventurous, well humored, idealistic, educated, strict, clean, inventors and a lot to think about. It's a major college town having a lot of state and private schools where people from everywhere come to and many wind up staying there as it is very comfortable and the people there make you feel like you are home. The crime is VERY low. The narrator quoted crime problems but what she didn't tell you was that the crime there is college oriented such as disorderly conduct, men fighting over their girlfriends, speeding while racing, loud while partying and all other things relative to the college aged person. The narrator is being dishonest almost like when she discovered that Lincoln is mostly NOT GAY then she took offense to it and vowed to attack the reputation of the city. Lincoln is one of my favorite cities. It is a very energetic beehive of a city with a lot of things to do that have nothing to do with beaches or mountains. The narrator needs to stay in San Fran Sisco where she oozed from. I've been all over the U.S. and by far California is at the top of the most undesirable places to be where bums defecate all over the place, most of them are immoral and not well humored and have nothing to say accept asking where they can get a hit of drugs. Blah! I'll take Lincoln over that slimy place any day of the week !! ... .. ..
It must be a satirical piece or else a troll. If she hadn't been using the word "Lincoln" I' would not have guessed she was talking about Lincoln. Her description sounds more like Detroit than Lincoln. I lived in Cambridge, England for most of my working career... a working career which took me all around the world as a concert musician and music professor. I chose Lincoln as my place to retire because it was better in almost all ways than any other place I've been. Crime ridden? It's one of the few places where I feel safe taking a walk alone in the evening. I keep wondering what someone did to make her want to dis it so badly. Did someone tell her that her dog was ugly? Maybe they told her she had garments all over her. You know... things which even your best friends won't tell you. Parts of LIncoln do stink... after someone lets one rip, but thankfully that's temporary, and you can always blame it on the dog. He's not telling. It will take a lot of change for the worse to make me want to leave. It would have to become what she described it as being, and it has a long way to go to become that. Has to be satire.
Hilarious, how Lincolnites from small town Nebraska towns think dumpy, high-tax, rude Lincoln is some of sort of Silicon Valley. Lincoln is a complete dump of a town. They have a university, but so do many other cities. There is nothing adventureous about a town of people from awful small towns in Nebraska who move to Lincoln. "The crime is very low" haha. What a joke, the crime is Lincoln is very, very, very high compared to Irvine, California and Gilbert, Arizona which are similar in size to Lincoln.
Im a Nebraskan who has lived in Colorado, New Mexico and Oregon and I absolutely HATE NEBRASKA with a passion. The majority of people here are ignorant, close-minded, complacent hicks especially Holt County. In New Mexico the people got involved and protested against chemtrails, gmos, etc and in Nebraska if you try to educate the hillbillies they get mad as hell. These are some of the most unfriendly, hostile redneck pos on Earth!
Maybe you should visit the town before posting a video based upon what you think it is like. There are no cows in town, no smell, and the crime rate is way lower than st Louis that you seem to think is so great. You talk about low paying jobs but fail to mention low cost of living. You can get a lot more here than in other big citiesfor a lot less
I hate to disagree with you about the smells. I have a friend, that when he lets one rip, it violates several articles of the Geneva Conventions pertaining to gas warfare.
The cost of living is not low at all in Lincoln and the wages are very low for the majority of the population. The crime rate is way higher than Irvine, California or Gilbert, Arizona. Why is Lincoln's crime so high compared to Irvine or Gilbet?
Pro sports would be a benefit tho..........especially in terms of revenue. Thank God we have casino gambling now!!!!! Thats step in the right direction.
My family moved from new york to lincoln, and then the rest of our family (which is huge) followed soon after. Now we're all here, and honestly i cant see myself living anywhere else. I love it here! But for those coming in cuz they cant afford houses anywhere else near the coast, go ahead and listen to this video... nothing to see here, lol leave us in peace 🤣👀
Hi...i am from Malaysia. My wife ( a Malaysian too) was a student in Nebraska University, did her MBA in 1992. She stay in Lincoln town. No negative comment on Lincoln town.
I’m thrilled she did a piece like this! Maybe it will deter those from the coast who sell their overpriced homes, pay cash for a house in Lincoln and drive up the prices so locals can’t afford to buy here. I use to think our state slogan was absurd…”Nebraska. It’s not for everyone”….but now I love it! I prefer to be a flyover state. Just keep movin’ people. Nothin’ to see here!
I visited Lincoln in 2010 and thought that it was a nice college town. It’s not as glamoutous as Paris, London Or New York but it’s quite charming. A nice place to raise a family. I visited Des Moines too and really liked that city. Besides Lincoln is like an hour from Omaha. Nebraska.
As someone who lives in Omaha I would definitely junk on Lincoln But that’s not Lincoln It ain’t “smelly” the only thing thats smells in your idea of never being in Nebraska at all
Um... no crime in Lincoln is nowhere near as bad as Omaha, It does not smell here, Lincoln has not gotten hit by a tornado directly in decades. In fact some claim the city is in a bowl which is why places outside get hit while Lincoln rarely does. Not welcoming? I have no idea what you are talking about. I don't see it. Drugs everywhere you look? LOL not even close. One section of town that's it.
You're not even stereotyping this city you're just factually wrong about literally everything. There's crime everywhere you go. Of course you're not going to see cattle grazing in a CITY this is literally a college town, as a outsider who was automatically welcomed id say maybe do actual research before trying to just throw a quick video together to get views.
@@601TRAVELS no you're channel is just trash and you'll listen to any little detail the internet gives you lol. Everyone there are other channels that know more details than this one. @@SarahKaye69 Devastating natural disaster maybe? Mass murder? Police beating? We've never had any of those. Kinda boring in that regard. Just nothing to make the national or international news When was the last time we've experienced a nuclear bomb blast? Just nothing exciting going on.
Lol. No worries people. St. Louis is just a short 7 hours down the road. And don't forget about New York and London being just a hop skip and a jump away too.
I was stationed there the first 6 years of the sixties ,loved it then and still have very good memories from that time. If you want to feel better about Lincoln just get stationed in Clovis N.Mex.. I loved the people there it was almost like being stationed at home in Tn.
I lived in Lincoln many years ago as a UNL student. It was very safe and the people were really friendly, Yes, extreme weather is one of the few downsides. The weather can be very harsh both during the summer and winter. Vegetarians and vegans will find many options in restaurants. Overall, I enjoyed my stay. The only complaint I have is the extreme weather and the fact that it's far away from either coast..
Uh, have you done any research? Lincoln has super friendly people, and the crime is low. Not to mention the education is high. Visit a city before you stereotype it.
"Super Friendly People" haha. A city of rude alcoholics who's sole purpose and goal is to be grandparents at 40 years old. Omaha has super-friendly, happy and healthy people overall.
Haha wow - there is hardly any truth to most of this video. My favorite one was the people there aren’t nice. Not sure you will find a place anywhere that has kinder people. Love walking downtown there and having people say hi or good morning/afternoon. If you talk to fans of visiting teams - they usually brag about how amazing everyone is there because they show such courtesy.
I don’t live in Lincoln but I live an hour away. You must have gotten your information from Wikipedia. I’m definitely NOT subscribing to a UA-cam channel that doesn’t do their research. Take a road-trip and get your facts straight. BTW Not everyone says ya’ll here in Nebraska.
Lincoln is the only town i have ever lived in, so i cant really compare but while we may not have major sports, the fanbase for volleyball and football is crazy! Really, you should see downtown Lincoln on gameday. It has never smelled bad in Lincoln although if you go out west and drive past a cow farm it does smell and hog farms are even worse. Also I have never found a person who ALWAYS goes behind my back and talks bad about me. Lincoln is not BORING maybe if you would come here and see what it is really like instead of hating every city in america you would know.
Does she think we’re just a giant farm?? Also the college teams here are exciting and over crowded enough. And wdym about outsiders aren’t welcomed? Our family is from everywhere around the country, Florida and Louisiana in particular, and most of them stayed here. Economy isn’t bad at all either, we just live off of less money than most of the country. But, Lincoln is a pretty boring city tbh. Yeah you can go to the bars or the zoos or any of the golf courses or the museum or even the bowling alleys or laser tag or pioneers park or any of the movie theaters or the game houses and arcades or axe throwing or escape rooms or hundreds of different cultures of restaurants or putt putt golf or paint balling or the countless national parks and walking trails or trampoline parks or the public gardens or any of the lakes in and surrounding Lincoln, but almost all of those cost money because Lincoln is an entrepreneurial city run off of local independent owners and hardworking folk. It’s catered to the blue collar trade sunup-sundown workers because we’re the ones that live here. We all work sunup-sundown, so the night life is where it’s at here. And when the teenagers in Lincoln get bored, they don’t have money like that so they usually spend our time cruising up and down o street or hanging out in parking lots 😂. The smelly part was very valid. So many poopy and dirty smells all over town. There isn’t a whole lot of crime, but some people do some MESSED UP stuff here. The weather was all true EXCEPT the fact that Lincoln gets hit by tornadoes. Lincoln and Omaha are both in bowls, so when a tornado hits it’ll fizzle out before it gets past the way far out suburbs. And even then the people out there are always prepared and ready. And the gossip is a big deal, a lot of people run their mouth here. But we welcome the new comers with open arms ready to help them settle in the best state on earth!
I grew up here and have lived in 5 other states. Most of what you say is true, however no smell and no smacking both of these would be OUTSIDE outside of Lincoln in the smaller towns. As for drinking, lol, that has to do with college and nothing to do here. JOB wise, it is great. There you are wrong. BORING YOU GOT THAT RIGHT and the UNL football is ridiculous here due to no pro teams. So please stay out of Lincoln...we don't want any more crime..
I think a of this stuff is opinions, because most places in Lincoln are for everyone they don’t just sell beef they sell vegan stuff too. It might be boring to you but for everyone else it might be fun, like there’s bars arcades and lot’s of games and fun activities to do with friends. And there is up to 15% chance that you will experience crime. Crime is everywhere in the world, it’s natural, not everyone is bad, and not everyone is good. And the smells are not bad, I mean sometimes if you’re living next to a gas station it might smell like gas, but everywhere else it just smells fresh, like around campus, and in most places it just smells like air. And also not to mention it’s farmland, The mascot is literally a cowboy, if you don’t like farms then go somewhere else like Florida. And yes weather change, what’s the big deal, after like five tornadoes and two experiences of snow, it’s just normal if you don’t like that go to Kansas, they have perfect weather there. AND NOT TO MENTION, Snow equals cold. Bro, right now I just can’t take it, if you wanna play a pro sport go somewhere else, and actually pro Sports don’t have to be like super super super good, we have volleyball, Soccer, basketball baseball softball basically anything you can think of, if you’re good at it, join a team on your level, it is really not that hard. And nobody will look at you and say oh they’re so ugly and I don’t like them, there is no smack talk, absolutely none, 0, I mean maybe you will get bullied at school once in a while, but that’s the closest thing you can get to smack talking, and there’s literally a 5% chance you’re gonna get bullied, so there’s literally a 5% chance you’re going to get smack talked, like girl do your research. But bro, substances, wow, there is literally plenty of spaces that you can do some substances like some bars, not all bars, again NOT ALL BARS AND PLACES ALLOWS THAT STUFF! And bro you can make a lot of money if you actually work. And BROOOO on campus there is so much art and awesome museums and historical places. Like girl these are all opinions, can u at least say “ in my opinion blah blah blah.” Can you ever think about other people.😅
I don't know... It's pretty rough here. I've been murdered seven... no six times. Okay, that's a bit of an exaggeration. I did stub my toe once when a street curb lunged out at me.
I love this video it is going to keep the riff raff out of Lincoln... Thank You... people that accidentally stumble in will find out what it is really like... I have lived in other cities over time and Lincoln is one of the better ones... the person giving this review has her head up her butt and has never been here... LOL...
1. We have the best college atmosphere in the country and if you have been to a late night husker football game you might have a clue 🤣🤣 2. No money is bs for one, but also the cost of living here isn’t much 3. There is plenty of things do here like umm I don’t know fishing, water parks, trampoline parks, bowling, COLLEGE FOOTBALL GAMES, laser tag, mini golf 4. Maybe judge a place that you might have a clue on before you make a whole WHY YOU SHOULD NEVER VISIT THE AWEFUL TOWN OF ________ Also don’t just judge a certain part of Lincoln because if you have every been to south Lincoln you might know that it’s pretty nice. Yes north Lincoln can be a little gross but that doesn’t mean that Lincoln as a whole is terrible, I mean your just judging a tiny sort of bad Lincoln 😂😂 like know that there is more than to just one area and it’s mostly a nice town better than most
I visited Lincoln in 2019 for the Nebraska- Wisconsin game. Seemed, clean, safe, friendly, good salt of the earth type of folk, plenty to do and the Haymarket district was Fantastic! Reminded me of a less liberal version of Madison.
Everyone judging but yet they never lived here I’m European i have traveled all over the place Iv been in United States Europe and other Countries 17 different countries I can tell you that Lincoln Nebraska is One of the best family places to live on Stop looking down and judging when you never left your home to see what’s out there to compare
Look, I’m sure this town sucks. But very few of these reasons make any sense as to why it does. You didn’t make a good argument, it is almost like you just read a quick pamphlet and decided it was an easy target. I’ve never been there, probably never will (can’t think of any reason to) but def not because of any of your reasons.
And for community guidelines the maker of this video is disrespecting Lincoln Nebraska for making false misleading comments that are inaccurate and disrespectful. So your guidelines need to apply to them as well
dodge neighborhood that is where most of this applies to frick you lincoln nebr is the greatist and there is a lot of sports here there is so much to do in lincoln
She should have looked around a bit more. Theres plenty to do in Lincoln. Its not just bars and cows. In fact the cows are outside of Lincoln. There are plenty Vegan Resturants and entertainment. Depends what you want to do. I do not live in Lincoln but go there often enough. Anytime you are traveling do your research. You will find plenty to do in Lincoln.
Sorry, but Lincoln is a boring city. It''s a boring city with lots of alcoholics and people who like to eat tremendous amounts food and be grandparents at like 40. What a boring joke of a city with terrible weather and such rude, alcoholic people. Omaha is great, Lincoln is a dump.
What's wrong with beef? Most states/cities have some kind of niche and in Nebraska they happen to feed the country in a big way. Maybe not using the same 4 or 5 pics would been nice too.
Carhartts and beef-inspired hats ONLY!! 🙄 There is a huge tech industry here full of successful start-up businesses because of the honors program in the computer science dept in UNL. I've never heard anyone speak about Lincoln like this. You must be desperate for shares and likes. That's sad. I'm not sure anyone would believe that cows live in Lincoln but I appreciate your bold effort to trash talk by saying Lincoln is full of trash talkers.
Just talked to my old roommate who still lives there. Thursday will have a high temperature of -5°. And a low of negative 10 with 25 mph winds. What a lovely day. If you're a penguin LOL
I must admit, it is rather windy here. I've never been able to determine if Kansas sucks or Nebraska blows. This is the state capitol, and when the unicameral is in session, there's quite a bit of long-windedness generated in the capitol building. Maybe that's a good thing though. They're full of hot air. Can you imagine who cold it would get without them? You also have to remember that there's nothing between Lincoln and the North Pole except three strand of barbed wire to slow the wind down in the winter.
@@601TRAVELS I'm not sure where this supposed obsession of beef is coming from. If I want to see cows I have to drive 30 minutes out of the city minimum. There is basically no agriculture in Lincoln. There are a lot of tech jobs, government jobs, and education jobs here though. The whole state does have a faint cattle smell to it. It is boring. The weather is extreme. If you like watching your only college football team lose a bunch we got you covered. The jobs pay decent, but the taxes are too high here. Honestly though the state sucks, especially as out of state people keep driving the costs of everything up.
Everybody here defending Lincoln are delusional or must live on the South side of town where everything seems to be real nice. I have lived in Lincoln for more than 20 years and I live on the North side of town, I see homeless everywhere, hear gun shots somewhat regularly and have a general feel of insecurity in my neighborhood. Drug addicts digging into random spots of land on the side of the road completely strung out. Just the other day i saw a guy on the corner of my street laying there on the sidewalk puking while children rode by on their bikes ignoring it because that is typical for them to see it. and the town does stink like actual human shit in certain areas, saying it doesn't is wild. All we have to do in this town is drink. That's why they call it drinkin' Lincoln. Getting your first DUI is like a right of passage for a being a Lincolnite. Being a pizza delivery driver for 1 year I was cursed out numerous times for no reason, stiffed more often than tipped, and to top it of was followed and chased to where i had to speed away and call 911. I'm glad you guys like it though.
The rest is very funny satire. #6 is accurate weather go crazy, but since Lincoln is in a geological bowl almost no tornadoes can form in Lincoln, just on the outside ridge of Lincoln. #3 is based let’s goooooo. #1 is that there is just many many treeees, it is pretty flat. There are no cattle in Lincoln.
Lincoln? Unsafe? 😂😂😂 that was the part that got me LOLing. Not all these points are invalid and some days the place does reek. But if you ever visit Lincoln for real send me a message I’ll show you some pretty dope spots in town and things to do outside of it
All of those 10 reasons are not really true I 😆Here's a fact about Lincoln, you hate impatient drivers don't move here cause driving is a hellhole. Another thing is it's so chaotic nowadays stores are just insane. I live in Lincoln and I'm 18 years old but it's really gone out of hand then I remember it.

Lincoln has extremely rude people and is full of alcoholics. I have never been around so many alcoholics in one-city. They work to drink in that town because it's so boring it's comical. Lincoln has bitter cold winters and the summers are very hot and humid. Lincoln has very high crime compared to Irvine (California) or Gilbert (Arizona) You must be confusing it for Omaha.
Check your source on the tornado info, if you’ve actually been here you’d have a much more interesting list. Take my word for it. @memo3252 very true. I also live in Lincoln, and I am happy to say that we are happy to have you here any time.
I’m from Scotland so I can’t comment much, but just from looking at the greenery there, it’s such a beautiful sight. I used to think America was like London, one big concrete jungle apart from certain places but this looks so beautiful
Look at colorado and Oregon then.
Lincoln is an awesome city!Lincoln has a very low crime rate!
I was murdered six times here.
Okay, maybe that's a bit of an exageration.
@@ChompchompyerdedOpe, sorry. My bad.
San Fran Sisco?😂
Im a Nebraskan who has lived in Colorado, New Mexico and Oregon and I absolutely HATE NEBRASKA with a passion. The majority of people here are ignorant, close-minded, complacent hicks especially Holt County. In New Mexico the people got involved and protested against chemtrails, gmos, etc and in Nebraska if you try to educate the hillbillies they get mad as hell. These are some of the most unfriendly, hostile redneck pos on Earth!
She said that lincoln smells, I've been to San Fransisco. She cannot talk here
Maybe you should visit the town before posting a video based upon what you think it is like.
The Cornhuskers fanbase beats a LOT of fanbases many pro sports teams have.

@@601TRAVELS it has been seven months what are you waiting for
Does she think we’re just a giant farm??
Gigantic farm, actually..
The economy is amazing here! I've made more here than anywhere else I've lived. A lot of this video is false.
There has only ever been 1 tornado that touched down in Lincoln. So idk what she is really talking about with the Tornados?
Say you have never been to Lincoln Nebraska with out saying you’ve never been to Lincoln Nebraska
