***** english is not my first language, so i dont know the correct names of each kind of sounds they use, but i know that goa is almost all the time more complex, and roland 303 is used, you can listen to "rainbow spirit- prana" to check it, the sound that starts at 0:01 its roland 303 . remember that i am talking about old school goa and old school trance, both from the 90s, goa is way more complex than trance, way more psychedelic.. the combinations of many diferent sounds create a constant vortex of sounds, waves of sounds that are even distorted sometimes, trance is more simple but its full of melodies too, but the majority of trance tracks are emotional in a sad way, melancholic, on the other hand goa is most dark, but not in a sad way, and also emotional. in this mix the yahel tracks and eyal barkan tracks are old trance, emantra, arronax, antares, afgin, agneton are neo and nitzho goa, they sound more modern and with more sound effects, the others are old school goa. listen to Blue Alphabet - Cybertrance - Bonzai Classic, its a perfect example of old trance. sometimes old goa djs they used to make tracks that for me are pure trance, like eletric universe- Rain (Original Unreleased Version), one of the most epic tracks ever, you can see that it is more mellow, goa is more trippy, more agressive. there are many variations of this genres, many djs with their own style of sounds, check also "acid trance", the most psychedelic kind of old trance, its from where goa was created. good channels to listen to old goa are live goa, letsturnon, psychedelic forest, trancemedia1
