Well, that got SO much darker than I expected... and I LOVE IT! Can't wait to see what else is in store- and now thinking the Team Dark stuff we saw is gonna involve them actually helping Shadow break back into the Ark despite GUN having the place quarantined.
I have to admit that I was amazed by what this was. I knew it was going to be short as well since it was hyping up the game but...yeah. But the animation studio behind this? Holy hell do they need an award.
Flying Bark deserves SO many awards for their animation, man.
First episode for Shadow time to see/listen to what's going to happen. Also I'm early for the episode, huzzah!
Maria and Shadow running had me scared we were about to have something scary happen. Thank goodness nothing bad was happening there. Although seeing her falling over like that had me wanting to give her a hug. At least the pair are getting to see an amazing sight.
Shadow please don't give the disbelief of a place on earth and ultimate kife form speech, you're giving me Mewtwo vibes. I guess that's a big clue for the pair to bond over the same thoughts and feelings. Wih both losing a dear friend...oh crud they are almost a copy of eachother. Although I will hope Sephoroth skips this meetinf because having more than two bonding over those points might set off something big.
I agree that having more context for the conversation with Maria cheering up Shadow feels stronger here. I just wish we could've had the pair trying to walk away from that spot before the explosion happened. Oh well, If they could make it longer maybe they would've, but that hallway scene. I'm right there with you the lights are great and working in the shadows to help hint at the long trek to get to her grandfather. Wow and lol to the accidental pun of mentioning shadows when not discussing the character Shadow.
From what I'm hearing that robot is named Emerald. I'm just unsure why they attacked. Is Emerald a creation of a military from earth or a robot from somewhere else. Time for a quick search. Okay first thing is that I misheard the name. Emerl, but I see the connection and I've now read a quick background creating more confusion. If Emerl was made to help why would he attack Gerald Robotnik?
Okay even Shadow is confused, thank you. Uh oh if these are parts of bad memories either these are odd nightmares or maybe the time traveling he's going to do includes visiting these moments. The jump and waking tells me the nightmare guess is right, but maybe Black Doom is causing this to happen.
Also poor moon, it's constantly being blown up or getting a major chunck being removed. At least the water on the planet was messed with thanks to that change. However for Shadow things are setting him on a path just like Knuckles when he found the tpwer to the island for Frontiers. With Shadow getting two more episodes and the short preview we got yesterday. I can only guess at some of what we'll see apart from what Rouge and I think Omega was seen.
I may not have watched everything, but my mind is still very curious and excited to see Shadow take down both Mephiles and Black Doom.
Actually, Emerl was made by an ancient civilization that has yet to be identified, and happened to be discovered by Gerald. Ancient scripts suggest Emerl and his potential sibling prototypes were the cause of the end of the civilization that made them. After Emerl's rampage here, and Shadow stopping him, Gerald reprogrammed him to have a conscience, to prevent another rampage. This led to his appearance in Sonic Battle, only for the Chaos Emeralds to factory reset him and put him back on the war path, at which point Sonic had to destroy him.
Oh okay, I misread or my brain decided not to input everything. Wow this guy has a lot of mysteries in his past. It has me wondering if we'll ever learn about the ones who created Emerl and his siblings.
On the othet side of the coin, with the memories being brought forward I wonder if Shadow will tell anyone else what's going on. I can see he likes to be a lone Hedgehog, but if we saw more of Team Dark would they be who Shadow turns too or just notice he's about to get into something big? Hoping if he does talk to them he can have some backup for what's happening.
