- Stopped in Tottenham for having a nice car, to be fair the police officer was cool. But he still stopped me though so... i dunno if he's that cool. I was going to go into the bus lane as it was after 7:30 then the car in front of me started moving so I stayed in my lane, he says i 'Hesitated' so he stopped me. yeh right. Everybody knows why you stopped me bro. Its because i have a purple t-shirt in a black car.
Jamie is a real down to earth guy man, he's got his head screwed on I wish I had friends like him instead of friends like mine..

+BBSHOCKZ I put in the work all day. (I had to.)

Come on you've stood and fought at their side, you've been nicked with them... you can't replace that shit overnight
I have to rate you JME you still did not disrespect, you kept your cool
I would like this but i gotta keep it at 420
Kept his cool for getting randomly stopped? 🤷♂️. Don’t think he needs knighting just yet.

At least the policeman is polite.
That's cause JME is polite. They're reacting to him.
exactly what i'm saying. policemen can be assholes no matter how you behave. i hope i don't need to pull out examples. i'm not black, but i witnessed it.
@@DJBigMD I know this is a comment from a long time ago but the policeman did ask some disrespectful questions such as 'do you pay your taxes?'

"When I was in Hampstead, I got stopped for having a nice car in a nice area" HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA
The don!
Let the way for a bad guy
Major props to the copper, he's just taking an interest.
As a brit, I got busted late at night in Oklahoma once, driving an expensive car. I'd ran a stop light. Cop was really upset, told me to get out of car. Demanded my details. All hell broke loose when he saw my driving licence and where in Scotland I was born. Flashlight on the license, back to me, back to license, demanding to know if this was true. His entire family were originally from there. For 20 minutes he gives me his family history, pointing out we could be related, asking if I knew such and such. To slowly passing cars it probably looked like an interrogation. In the end he was welling up. Thought he was gonna take me to the jail and force me to meet all his family. But he just shook my hand and wished me a nice holiday.
Lucky you didn't get shot
in the UK, in reality he didn't have to answer any of those questions, he could use his right to remain silent without any consequences, this cop was pushing it and interrogating him.
r/thathappened
@@motamiri2455 the policeman was asking as a fellow man rather than as a policeman I reckon Music makers love talking about what they do.
The ending is hilarious lol
now i know why JME used to film these
3:30 and forward is basically a JME song. "Boy better know" "North London" "Since 2003"
he does well to comply with the police and be polite but I do think the police are asking him excessive question's just to find out if he's a black drug dealer or burglar.
How can they ask him if he's a drug dealer or burglar without you thinking its because he's black? Oh wait, they can't. They stop young white people driving expensive cars in certain areas too.
No one asked
Jake Bealing no one asked
Jake Bealing you can’t get stoned by eating hash 😂
Every video I watch someone comments something like racist stop or whatever how can every stop be fucking racist hahah kid you live in a bad area you will most likely be pulled. I once got pulled 4 times over about 12 hours different police every time (in Ireland) I’m white btw.
JME is chill as fuck, you notice how his attitude gets him respect from the feds, but it also gains him respect in his proffesional career. He gets pulled more often than he should for sure but he breaks down any archaic* predjudices* the cops may have by the way he carries himself, no bull-shit just straight up honesty. I'm sure this shit will get better, i hope it does at least. Big up JME for makin these vids 1
"How long you been doing that for?"
"From 2003"

Love the fact he quotes lyrics throughout this😂
TheMeleez When is he quoting lyrics? Just curious, didnt pick up on that?
@The Math Guy same 😂
He's been so respectful to him, well done jme that's how u handle stuff
This is evidence that you can still be a bad man and stay calm.
"I've got an eye for seeing driving offences...."
Like hesitation. And being black.
This police officer just told everyone how to rob a car.
This is basic shit that anybody stealing cars already knows lol

UA-cam recommendations 2020 be like
He seemed nice. I don't see a problem here.
Not the bit where he says he get stopped 3 or 4 times a month?
It's not the individual cop. It's the whole system which has this dude getting pulled over 2-3 times a month.
You deal with the police perfectly, respectfully but still hold your ground, fair play
pov: you randomly just got this vid in your recommended
This fed rlly tought him how to steal😂
JME is a legend, knows exactly how to talk to them but also hold his ground, maintaining dignity, i felt they were trying to create frustration with all the unrelated questions & condescending voice tone, full big ups to BBK, mandem go far
I genuinely think the police officer was actually intrigued. When he said do you pay your taxes he didnt mean it disrespectful he just didnt know if it was a legitimate business
So is anyone talking about why this is recommended

He’s no more interested in your music than flying a kite - he’s checking that you’re fluent with the answers to his questions. I’m white, drive a decent car and have never been stopped in my life. Like it or not, racial profiling happens
This ain't racial profiling, it's because he's driving an expensive car in a low income area with his buddys in the car. A lot of theft in the UK.
Doctapeppur come on man you don’t really believe that do you
@@doctapeppur1900 you deluded don
@@doctapeppur1900 If the car isn't reported stolen though... then that's a load of bs

I just want to say how absolutely patient and wonderful you are. Mostly excellent interactions. It must be frustrating to get stopped is much - good to gather that you are chilled with the respectful officers.
JME was SERIOUS
"you driving a nice car you and u lads and we maybe think you stole it" like wtf is that?!?!?!
+Sandyy he's not saying that, he's saying the fact the police man accused him of stealing it
Sanders Right, BUT you can’t go around accusing people of theft without proper proof. I live in America though so I don’t know how it works over there but pulling someone over and accusing them of stealing a car because they’re “ too young “ or black or whatever to be driving that car is all wrong. It’s proof that there is a problem with certain authorities rather than “some people just have a problem with authority.” Not everyone is fit to be an authority.
He didn't accuse him, see that word "maybe" and "allegedly"
Means a fine line, you have or haven't done it, it's what the get paid to do, put you on the spot, so hopefully A and a said A Simpleton, will slip up.
@@bmx2026 you do know London is riddled with underage joy rides though ?, A few weeks ago a few lads stole an Audi and used it as a weapon against folk, ramming into cars and shit, leading to the armed police, breaking the window and dragging them out ?.
From the age of 13-25 they all get treated the same, especially mopeds, since they're getting robbed all over the place.
Just the same as Scotland has high drug crime, if someone even looks a bit off, they get questioned ?, If you've got nothing to hide, then there's no issues, is there ?, No.
@@Mr_Makina Everything you said is true man but after its happened to you every other day or dozens n dozens of times it grinds you down and eventually people snap & then get lifted.. Thankfully JME has great patience & is well mannered although alot of people aren't ✌️

Hold up, this man was 27 five years ago? Tf he looks the exact same now.
Dylzi 7*
From late 20's to mid 30's you generally don't age that much. Also, black don't crack
Fantastic example of an intelligent young man dealing with obvious profiling. Which by his statement he deals with on a regular basis. When will police learn. My son is of Mix race and around the same age he has the same problems on a regular basis. Guys I know it's hard but stay positive don't drop to there standard not all police have the same outlook even though the academy seems to teach these procedures.
Have got a family member to give an example or is that just hearsay or guess work
@ClownWorld Nationalist
I know Hertfordshire well it's a predominately white middle class area. I'm from east London. The saying goes "Walk mile in my shoes." I'm 51 and trust me profiling is real most of my friends are of Caribbean descent and my Son is a 31year old mixed race man. If you think once a month is bad try once a day for no reason. You can see in my profile I'm a icu 1 my experience in east London is different unfortunately in many was.
JME sounds like he's been sped up for the whole video😂
I love how JME just sits there and has a gentle chat. If I was ever stopped three times a week just for driving my car around I'd have done something I would've regret.
I love he tells you how to steal car keys.......that will keep crime down if thats his opening line to every "suspect" he stops lol
The old “I’ve never met you before” line 🙄
Police shouldn’t have to pull over every black man until they know them all ffs!
Gregory Ashton they don’t pull over every black guy tho. It’s not racist for a police officer to pull over a black guy in a expensive car cos there are very few successful black people over white unfortunately. And it is a high chance that they could have gotten their money from doing bad things. They pull over white people in expensive cars too. Look both sides not just see a couple of black people get pulled over and go “fuck the racist pigs, pulling over every black guy”
Demolition playa he was driving his car, no reason to pull him over, it’s bullshit and was obviously racist. Has no reason to pull him over
@@conor4444 they probably would have if he was white, you dont know that m8
Demolition playa you’re telling me that if a white guy in a suit was driving an expensive Mercedes they’d pull them over? Balls mate
Conor O'Toole I drive a Aston Martin. And I get pulled over all the time. It’s cos of the area people are in. The police always say they pull me over cos “they never see a nice car in this area” shit excuse. They probably think I got my money illegally or something. They don’t pull over just cos of racism but it’s a lot of shitty excuses. I’m not defending the police. They are twats. But when they pull a black person over it’s not cos of racism every time. Alright mate. That’s just my opinion/personal experience
I bet the police man just wanted to have a chat with jme , lol he seems like a nice guy to talk too , ha I don't know

He wanted to know what other crimes he is committing hence the “do you pay tax” comment. This wasn’t a friendly chat ffs.
Funny how UA-cam recommended this now...
You get stopped and searched so many times that you have now created your own law
He just lied about his age 😂😂😂
Stopped for DWB. Police - "Give me a chance for racial profiling." "You have to have an ear for it" - i.e. I don't like that.
He definitely seemed less passive aggressive than most of the cops.

It is now an offence to be a couple of young lads driving an expensive car, never heard that one before officer but I'm sure you're right as you've got an eye for these type of things ; )
But it is suspicious, surely? If you see a group of young men driving an expensive car together I don't see why it's bad to be suspect about it. Most young people don't have money in this country so it made sense just to check, surely?
joS 7 years later and I still wouldn’t say so... young people have got money to buy nice cars, since when has that been an offence?
My favourite part is that JME had to describe grime music, no need for that today 😂😂
@@Jamie.Southerland the grime music bit was very funny, I agree.
some young people do have money to buy nice cars, but very few do... at least stastically speaking. Also it hasn't ever been an offence, no - but it's suspicious which is why it isn't terrible for the cop to question him, i mean, that's why they stop people, under suspicion. I agree that a few questions were a bit weird, like "do you pay taxes"?
See that storm shirt

Usman Gileson how can you prove it? I drive a £60,000 car. And when I drive in a poor area or even just not rich areas I get pulled over. I’m white and 19. They thought I stole it cos I’m young. I understand there are racist police but no need to pull out the racism card too quick kid
