This band just proves what I've been saying for years.....The 90's sucked and the 80's had way more variety than people give it credit for.
Eh. 80s nostalgia is unquestionably one of the main themes of synthwave. Nonetheless, the genre as we know it wouldn't exist if it weren't for certain developments of 90s electronic music, especially house. The roots of synthwave are strongly tied to French house.
And there was plenty of great music in the 90s.

This is like arguing that because Steel Panther uses modern gear, they owe credit to the modern era of rock music, as opposed to the 80's. This is stupid! The theme of what they are going for is the 80's (this includes riffs, and lyrics). Same could be said about sythnwave. It doesn't matter if these synthwave bands use some technology developed in the 90's or even after. They are capturing a 80's sound.
@@hardluck8732 It's not just technology. The structure of the music itself depends on developments from the 90s. It even clearly exhibits the influence of the 90s (and 00s) in its sound. You're overestimating how similar this really is to 80s music. The point of that element of synthwave (it's not the only one, by the way) is to create a sound that elicits an 80s nostalgic vibe, not to create a sound that is truly like that of the 80s.
@@hardluck8732 If we compare, say "Always Something There to Remind Me" by Naked Eyes to this track, the former is certainly an 80s sound, and resembles much else that was produced in the 80s, while there is a considerable difference with this track. It's not accurate to say that this is 80s music, nor that it has the same sound.

THIS song fits with THIS movie, unlike your other videos, specifically because Sharon Stone IS a Meduasa drawing men in and KILLING WITH LOOKS. This makes sense. Bend and Harry meets Sally does not work.
