Two new priests ordained for Archdiocese of Toronto

  • “You are servants of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. That’s who we are. That’s who the people expect their priests to be,” Cardinal Thomas Collins told his two new priests in his homily.

    As he often does on great occasions, Collins recalled the work and the sacrifice of Toronto’s founding bishop, Michael Power.
    “He spent his days simply caring for those who were poor and sick and dying,” said Collins.
    So immigrated to Canada from Hong Kong with his family in 1994 and had once aimed to become an engineer. It was his experience of World Youth Day in Australian in 2008 which began a process of discerning a call to the priesthood.
    MacDonald, from a small town along the Nova Scotia coastline, began working life as a lawyer but found himself searching for other ways to serve and in 2007 enrolled in the Venerable English College in Rome, where he began studies of the priesthood. He joined the Archdiocese of Toronto and St. Augustine’s Seminary in 2015.
