@Audible UK Thank you so much for this opportunity to ask questions.😁 You have such an broad array of books you're bringing to life, thank you so much for that gift you're giving us, your fans. What other genres would you like to further explore in the (near 🤞) future? Of all the roles you've played, which role would you say, most personifies you? What opportunities to learn a new skill were you most eager to undertake? You've had the opportunity to give a voice to and to play such a diverse array of characters. However, of all the characters you've read, which character and book do you find yourself most drawn to or found that their narrative touched your heart or impacted you in some way? Do you have a personal philosophy you chose to follow or live by?
@Rachel M. I fell in love with him when I saw him in Robin Hood. I fall in love with every character he plays but Guy of Gisborne and Thorin Oakenshield are at the top of my list 🥰
He's always handsome but somehow with his hair and beard the way they are now I'm thinking he is even more attractive than usual😆. Also for the "what other classic would you want to narrate?" I am excited that he said Chekhov because I would love to hear that but even more than that I so much want him to FINALLY narrate North and South! I wish that could happen.
I would love them to do North and South but as like a production with a cast of a few characters, even if it's just him narrating Thornton's chapters and someone else doing Margaret's POV. It would be a bit odd to hear his glorious baritone reading out Margaret's inner thoughts!
I have to admit I hadn't heard of Richard Armitage until recently after I watched The Hobbit movies. I ❤️ Richard in the role of Thorin Oakenshield, now I'm interested in other films he's done and listen to him narrate books.
He needs to narrate North & South and The Hobbit, then my life will be complete. Please, Audible! Make him do it!! Also please tell him he's the reason I read David Copperfield (for the first time) AND listened to it... back-to-back. Mr. Micawber haunted my dreams for awhile after that, with his "pecuniary difficulties" and long superfluous letters. 😂
Oooh, sounds like he has a bad cold. Great job everyone, too bad I'm not on Twitter, since I have lots of questions. Fingers crossed he does even more ”romance” I loved him in ”Wanderlust” and would give anything to hear his dulcet tones do even more, perhaps some Teresa Medeiros? As she is my favorite and has tons of fun books but only 2 are presently offered and found as Audiobooks and as I am losing my sight and trying to get as many fun and light audio books as possible so I have something to read, smile, laugh and enjoy I believe in my heart that Richard Armitsge is amongst the best and most inviting reader today and Audibe is fortunate to have such a talent in their midst. But Richard Armitage and Teresa Medeiros would be a match made in heaven!
First, I´d like to recommend Uncle Vanya to anyone who loves theatre, it is truly a feast, I loved it!!! Also, I absolutely LOVE Richard Armitage´s voice. The fact that he narrated The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde (my favourite story of all time) is a cherry on top of a perfect chocolate cake :)
Thank you so much for sharing! I love Mr Armitage and this series, and I really would love a TV adaption! with Mr Armitage of course, as Detective Jackman
I remember him doing a Durham accent years ago, which is not too dissimilar from Geordie, and my husband (who is from Durham) just grinned and said: "at least he tried". He did and he did well ;)
The best Q& A was will it be on TV with Richard playing Jackman and he said Yes! - fingers crossed that comes off - after listening to all of the Jackman & Evans books there really isn't anyone else but Richard who could play Jackman! If there is a TV god, please, please, please, please! :-) xxx
Damm, I just only look for Thorin's eyes looking.... then I listen him carefully and I surrender by his voice and the way he speaks , I think I;m in love with this actor...
So glad to not have to live with him or spend significant amounts of time with him on a daily basis. I simply could not focus on anything he'd say, I'd only be listening to his lovely voice. You could read the Whitby phone book and I'd problably buy this as well. So that is basically a thank you for being you.
Love him, such a great actor! 💐👏👏 I can recommend the tv series Between the Sheets where he really shows off his acting skills! p.s the background music gets irritating after a while!
i-. i don't know if he's sick or if his voice is just really that deep. sounds like he just woke up. its wonderful. (and the sweater. i died. i want his sweater)
Someone also commented that he sounds sick and now that I've read it twice I can see some redness on his nose and eyes, so yeah I think he had a cold or something
Great interview!! I think (apart from Armitage) the best narrator is David Shaw-Parker! I look for stories narrated by these two. Fry is good... but I think Shaw-Parker is better, imo.
Richard you are the man I admire most in the world, I respect you so much, I infuse you with the social networks of so many love dedications, I would like you to answer me .. You are the man of my dreams ♥️ Katia
My ultimate goal now is to have Richard narrate my novel. It's a bit of a penny dreadful type of thing, but his voice is the equivalent of being able to make a silk purse out of a sow's ear, so I'm sure he'd make it sound wonderful 😘
And now imagine him and other actors narrating an audio as a "workbook" to an english textbook... I think so many people would love it, just imagine you could study English with The Hobbit company, the LOTR, Harry Potter... Something like a themed audiobooks narrated by a group of actors... I believe not only children would love and appreciate this.

How does someone live with such a voice? What does it sound like in his head? One of the most iconic, best voices I have ever heard!!!
👏👏👏👍
Seriously, he has one of the best voices in the world.
The way Richard chuckles is adorable..
Could he possibly be any more adorable?

What is Ward 6 is it a extremely funny book like the Wonky Donkey?🤔
If I close my eyes and listen to him talk, my mind can’t decide if it wants to show me Thorin Oakenshield or Trevor Belmont 😂😂
Those were some really wonderful and interesting questions!
Glad you liked it! :)
I'm sorry but I will not write nothing new but Richard Armitage voice is so amazing. Warm and cudly. It's really a pleasure to listen him.

Thank you so much for this. I have all the books he has read. He is an amazing actor and I can always get lost in his voice and narration
He's handsome even by reading and answering all this question
Oh fantastic! I just started reading (Kindle) and listening (Audible) Joy Ellis’s Jackman and Evans books. He would be perfect as DI Jackman!

he doesn’t even have to alter his voice to do his trevor voice, wow. if he cosplayed him he’d literally BE him and wouldn’t have to try.
