I don’t typically fish wacky as fast as Jon it depends on the conditions I also use an 8 pound fluorocarbon on a medium rod with and extra fast action the key to being really good at wacky is detecting bites before the fish swim a good medium rod will be able to withstand any bass you catch and the extra fast action means all the play is in the rod tip so it’s easier to tell if you have a bite another big thing with wacky is watching the line, bass will almost always hit a wacky on the fall so I don’t twitch it too much. But when it’s falling the line is slacked so watching the movement of the line and how fast it sinks is just things you will learn over time. I also use a size 2 vmc neko hook instead of a wacky hook I also use two o rings crossed over each other with the hook under them, it protects the bait longer has a better hook up ratio and I feel gives the bait more action. I have been perfecting my wacky techniques for a while now and I’ve also got pretty good at skipping a weightless, that is one of the biggest advantages of a wacky cause I can get it under any dock or cover the trick is all in getting your rod at the right angle and you can throw it just as far as a normal cast it also causes commotion on the surface which can sometimes draw the attention of nearby fish. Not saying Jon was wrong just giving my two cents
no kidding, just got back into fishing and needed something to try for my pond that seemed like it was bassless, threw green pumpkin on a wacky jig and caught 12 today..one being around 8 pounds which is now my new pb. you really can’t make this stuff up these guys know there stuff.
I use 8 pound fluorocarbon not only is it more sensitive but mono will actually stretch when you set the hook where fluorocarbon does not fluorocarbon also sinks so it’s better for throwing a weightless wacky
Bro i was just out on the water today fishing a wacky and i didn't get a single bite!!! And then they post this right after... Bruh... It just wasn't my day lol😂
Their soft plastics are terrible and are too expensive. All they do is fall apart after 2 fish. If your looking for soft plastics buy zoom, strike king, and yum.
Total crap comment... Fished Keitech swim baits and got one bite per bait before it was trashed. Changed to the Saucy Swimmer, get anywhere from 6-16 fish per bait. If you don’t like the Googans, just say so... They’ll still be mega successful either way
my favorite googan, talking about one of my favorite techniques. win win!
Love taking out a wacky rigged lunker log of this color in our city ponds. They seem to hit on any part of the water.
this googan lab like watching a mini video. thanks jon

Caught my pb on a wacky rig 5 and a half pounder.
Thanks Jon for that dangle knowledge very useful keep it up brother 👍
I’m going to have to try the Lunker log
Good info Jon B
When ever I’m fishing with somebody who has never fished before I always give them 2 baits to use, 1 a wacky rigged stick bait 2 a spinner bait
I've never had success with a spinner. Gonna try a lunker tomorrow

Jon with the wacky
Can we get a lunker tube bait? Can not find a consistent flipping tube. Strike King makes the best but very inconsistent hook us up please
Howzit ma bru🤙🇿🇦
You can’t beat a wacky rig!!!
Good looking bub
What hook should I use
circle hook
What is the best line to use in this situation?
i use 8lb to 12b pound mono

I still call it a senko

Can't get bass bites on a wacky rig to save my live. Weirdly can get perch bites but on the ends.
Is this best with 12 lb fluoro
or 8lb

Yum has been good to me. Nothing beats the price. Am not paying no $8 for branded worms
It’s sad that any Googan bait will be destroyed after 2 fish 🤷🏼♂️ don’t buy Googan baits. They’re crap!
They catch fish and are affordable so why wouldn’t I?
@@TheGen3ral tbh they are kinda expensive bro.
@@TheGen3ral me too!! love the plastics best!!

@@chickenman5477 I agree for how crappy they are!
