Damn good job on production. Superior Drummer FTW! Really tight kick was absolutely a perfect choice for this song, really shines around 1:06 - like a goddamn machine gun haha
Yeah dude I`m super happy you noticed - exactly at 1:06 I replaced the kick sample for this ua-cam.com/video/CwZVnNxXCso/v-deo.html to add that warm analog character. Anyway, thanks! Check my soundcloud! :-D
Any chance you could upload just the backing tracks at some point so we could play along, as well? This is one of my favorite songs by far and your drums come through so clear, it makes it way easier to follow along on those wild rhythms.
Cloudkicker is one of my favorite bands (guy) next to Deftones but great cover, the verses were a little too djenty for me (and I like djent too) but I think I liked the original better. I can see why you went that direction though as the original guitar verses lack that 'flare'
Fantastic job bro. I’m late to the comments but do you have any idea how cloudkicker creates those sharp horn like ambiences behind the riffs. Is it synth or is he just using a sustain technique with his guitar
I wish I would have seen this comment a lot sooner but on some songs he uses an ebow that's heavily distorted with delay and reverb. And I would say that's it but surprisingly he sent me the guitar tracks so a song that I thought contained an ebow. But I guessed wrong. It's just layers and layers of heavy distorted guitar tracks looping. Usually arppegiating a chord or some sort, which tripped me out listening to the individual tracks.. specifically A weatherfront was stalled
Storage unit26 ty for the reply. I did since figure it was an ebow and got one for myself and have been having a blast creating similar soundscapes. I also stumbled upon the “Ben sharp” YT channel and he has 2 videos of going through his mixes. I literally fell out of my chair when I found them. The possibilities with your music that open up when using his style of background ambience to accent or dominate a section of a song creates limitless possibilities
@@Hifcrea oh haha I know someone asked him on instagram about push it way up, . But yeah I fell outta my chair when I asked him about the breakdown for the ending of weatherfront, ended up bring a video n stead lol but yeah the ebow is tons on fun. I recently stopped using it though :/
I used a roof to cover me from rain, some clothes so youtube wouldn’t delete the video for disgusting nudity, electricity to run my guitar amp, a guitar and lots of other useless stuff… :-D
Great cover, but it's almost a rearrangement I feel like. Like a modern djent take on it, with the palm muting and minus all of the layered guitar tracks
Really? I don't think it would be the amount of strings, more just his setup with amp/guitar/mics etc. Sounds like he's got a cleaner setup with more low end focus possibly coming from the crunchlab pup
+Rails2Revolution pick-ups for starters. this album was recorded with an Ibanez prestige, 6 string. The scale length is different too. string tension also plays a big part.
well there's a part after the break down where i can't tell what the strumming patter is. but iv'e worked most of it out by ear and by watching this vid.
cant stop listening to this masterpiece
The whole album is a masterpiece
that rhythm starting at 1:07 blows my mind even more when I watch you pull it off
adding articulation to this part definitely brought something new

Holy crap, was that good to watch!
Top work.
Very well done.
Thank you so much! :-)
This is fucking raw, man!
23 Letter´s away from an Insult in his last name. Great Cover!
Michael... thanks bro... I didn't expect jug jug will sound so epic like this and only on 2 strings. Cheers
Great tone, and the production is great!
Thank you, this always makes me happy!

Clean technque and great quality lens btw.
Looks awesome in 7 string. Congrats from Brazil
Thank you! Greetings from Czech Republic! :-)

Mindblowing
You deserve a lot more views

1:48 machine gun on steroids!
really excited to see your face playing that guitar

killer job man!
i come here and watch this when i wanna listen to this song
Mighty.
Noice!
Nice job
It woulda been sweet if you had done the melody parts also. But other than that, it was awesome
i know, the ambiance is the best part about cloudkicker
Really nice dude! its better than the original one!
Great job bro you got the sound pretty spot on and your rythm is on the money too. I'm still trying figure out what sexy ass 7 string that is?
Thumbnail reminded me of vitalism bipolarity

Two of my favs too bro. Try Chimp Spanner, if not already.
yes m8
if only it was palm muted this well on the album.
Fantastic job bro. I’m late to the comments but do you have any idea how cloudkicker creates those sharp horn like ambiences behind the riffs. Is it synth or is he just using a sustain technique with his guitar
Arthur Dealy i always assumed that was just an overlaid synth

+Michal Zyka
What in the name of grandmother's onion and pube milkshake are you using to get that sound??????
It's called "three years ago I can't remember shit" :-D but I think it was some TS808 plugin, lePou le456, gate and a cab IR
Amazing work Michal! What tuning did you use?
He's in B standard, the original is in Drop B on a 6 string though
looking through the comments to see if anyone mentioned it. But, what guitar is this you are playing?
very nice, how do you EQ your guitar to get the sound?
Nice job! I like your version better, becouse under the main riff I don't hear that additional guitar tone, that bothers me.
are these dimarzio blaze pick ups on the neck?
heyy can anybody write me the tab of all open riffs....!!!
Download songster and tune down to drop B the riff took me like 5 mins to learn. It's pretty easy
Hey man what did you use to record the video? BTW nice cover.
I used a roof to cover me from rain, some clothes so youtube wouldn’t delete the video for disgusting nudity, electricity to run my guitar amp, a guitar and lots of other useless stuff… :-D
Is it 3/5 ,4/5? Pls enlighten me
I don`t know I forgot :-D
Great cover, but it's almost a rearrangement I feel like. Like a modern djent take on it, with the palm muting and minus all of the layered guitar tracks
Drop B tune?
greay job bro. sounds weird with a 7 string though. changes the sound dynamics
Really? I don't think it would be the amount of strings, more just his setup with amp/guitar/mics etc. Sounds like he's got a cleaner setup with more low end focus possibly coming from the crunchlab pup
Yes indeed thats all part of it. but a detuned 6 string, sounds very different from a 7 in standard tuning.
With the same scale length, how?
+Rails2Revolution pick-ups for starters. this album was recorded with an Ibanez prestige, 6 string. The scale length is different too. string tension also plays a big part.
What guitar are you playing?
It`s an Ernie Ball Music Man JPXI 7-string. ;-)
What are you playing through? AxeFX?
VST's... :-)
***** Nice! Guitar Rig?
James Fraser Nope, I think TSE808 into LePou LE456 and RedWirez cab impulse responses... :-)
***** What pickups do you have on your guitar? I use impulses but they never sound as good as this. Good job btw.
DiMarzio CrunchLab/Liquifire
are those real drums or is it Superior drummer?
its Superior Drummer :-)
sounds awesome :) do you have any tabs ?
also, could you do a cover of cloudkicker's subsume songs ?
Thomas Catlett What do you need tabs for? These angles are perfect to watch and learn :)
well there's a part after the break down where i can't tell what the strumming patter is. but iv'e worked most of it out by ear and by watching this vid.
The song really loses impact without the single-note lead line and swells in the second half. Good rhythm cover!
Great cover! What tuning did you used on the 7 strings?
Thank you! Standard tuning.
I play this in drop B on my 6, which I believe is faithful to how BS originally played it. I wish I had a 7!
According to Cloudkicker's gear list the tunning for The Discovery album is B, F#, B, E, G#, C#. Wonder what your standard tuning on the 7 string is?
Standard tuning on the 7 is a B E A D G B E.
Same as that of a 6 string standard tuning but with the lower B.
is the bass out of tune almost all the time or something? It's runing the song
Meant to be played on a six string mate
