I've followed this and your PDG Indie Gamedev tutorials. How do I apply materials instead of single diffuse textures/colours? I want to use PBR materials to make my terrain look SICK AF :D
You can export the textures a few different ways. The first way is to use COPs and pull the layers off the height field. The second is to convert the terrain to geometry and put the colors into the vertex colors or you can bake the colors off using the bake texture rop.
Howdy OnionRider! So in the case of this particular scene, I exprted out each tile as an FBX file from Houdini. If you dont have Houdini Indie, then you'll have to export out as OBJ. To do that use a file node. Let me know if that made sense! Thanks! :-)
You can download the Houdini scene here: gum.co/uyewM
awesome vid!! :D
Thank You very much!
Very nice walk through! Is there any link to download the Houdini terrain file?
