  • While my 2014 Marathon Prevost features a built-in BBQ grill, when preparing smaller meals, using the large grill can be time consuming. There's the warmup time, the cooking time and then, there's the inevitable cleanup time. There's also the power management issue as larger appliances can consume quite a bit of the available amperage. If you have multiple air conditioning units operating, it's probably best to shed some of the load prior to firing up the large electric grill.
With those factors in mind, I set out on a search for the ultimate portable grill that's simple to use, easy to clean and stores compactly when not in use. My solution was the George Forman Evolve Grill System

I've had mine for 3 years and haven't had any of the issues people have mentioned. I love my grill for meal prepping.

The only thing I don't like about the GFE is that it's slanted too much. I like grease. Grease = taste. So what I would do, is turn the drip tray upside down, and prop up the bottom of the grill with it, so it's not slanted down so much when I cook. Also it would grill the hamburger(s) more evenly, so they taste better, are juicier, and get done quicker and more efficiently. All grills are different. You have to tweak them sometimes to get them to do what you want. Lol.

that's what books are for to get the right level so the grease don't run off, I also like the greaser the beter, that's where the taste is

I own one of these foreman evolves and it's worthless. It takes about 20 minutes to preheat. It burns on portion of the griddle and barely cooks others. The waffle plates stick to the waffles. I cooked 3 batches of waffles and it took over an hour for them to cook. Would not recommend. I could fire up the charcoal grill and cook things faster than this.

I have not tried this grill with waffles, but can say it works very well with both frozen and thawed hamburgers and steaks. The unit I purchased pre-heats in less than ten minutes.
