thank me later
ps i know these colour codes are not so important
Finally i can make my favorite pictures come to life, thank you!
I'm having some issues after creating my color layers in the skin group. It won't allow me to add color. Any suggestions? When I click with my paint it asks to rasterize the fill.
Hi Magen, in order to add the color, in the layers window, click once on the black box next to the color layer. Then your brush should work.
I watched your "World War I Photos In Color" video just now and I thought why there are no coloured photos of Ottoman soldiers like these in the video? I guess there are not enough people who would like to colour old photos from the Eastern Front of WW1...
Luckily, right after that, I found this video of yours and I would love to give it a shot. So, I am thankful for this and I will inform you after I complete one. :)
Update?
You must fix the history channel! It's not what it was!
That pic of Abe ain’t colored right …….. he had brown skin !
Like the penny they put him on
He was black man the evidence is available if one looks for it.
thanks for a great tutorial, I'm trying to colorize a photo of my grandparents. At 5:21 you've pressed ctrl + a + delete and remove all colors from the photo. Do I understand right, that I can just INVERT mask by pressing ctrl+I and get the same result?
I'm asking because on Mac Os X then I pressed ctrl + a+ to delete just nothing happens...
It should be cmd + A (not ctrl) ;)
I saw your Jerusalem video.. nice loop. But gotta say, Abraham lincoln was Brown, SWARTHY look it up. A man s channel Kurimeo goes into several layers of proof of this fact. If you care about accuracy is all im saying.
idk what I did but for some reason I cant colour any more lol maybe i pressed a wrong button or the ctrl + alt + delete idk help.
NEVER MIND press x to Switch Foreground and Background colors L O L
Wow! Fascinating!
Thank you sooo much!
P.S. - 5:20 if ctrl + a + delete don't work, use alt + delete
For someone that just started to colourize photos, this tutorial goes way to fast to follow...
The first photo colorized.
Would love to be able to find a way to do this using iPads Procreate app. I followed the same steps but got no where near the results. I guess because you can't add things like softlight to whole groups inProcreate? Also what does it do when you have the layer set to softlight *and* the layers group?
It's just a different blend mode, but it also means the colors blend differently to what you may have - and you may have less tools than I have available. The layer groups' blend mode means that it's going to be 'Color' mode, which is just more vibrant and lays itself down on the canvas and the background rather than altering it, which Soft Light does, but I enjoy the blending of Soft Light layers, just not the color and effect it produces, so I found a workaround to keep both.
The link to the PSD doesn't work
Ai
wow...just saw this video and its a whopper for those of us who have just used inverted solid color layer or just inverted layers to colorize...this is like a whole new world as I adjust to your understanding of how to do this. I wonder if you have done anything recently that we could view?
Great video! I have one question, I’m using everything you said, but how do you add solid white to a photo? Every time I attempt to add white it just looks grey.
hey, im actually stuck at 9:41, it just doesnt colour the image
i did everything as you did in the video but it just doesn't work it won't color help please
is there a way for me to get a free version of photoshop??
Ikr
yeah just find out how on youtube
Illegally pirate it or get GIMP, which is a free version of Photoshop that is extremely watered down.
This tutorial is SO helpful. Thank you for taking the time to share it!
I know absolutely nothing about Photoshop, so IDK why "color" is greyed out (as is "black and white" when I click on the "creat new fill adjustment layer" button) when I click on the "pass through" drop down menu. Any ideas? Thanks!
For anyone who may also have this problem, I THINK I found the fix: At the top of the screen, click on the IMAGE tab, hover over MODE, and then ensure there's a check mark next to RBG COLOR. That's all I know. Hope it helps.
Thanks for the tutorial!
Awesome tutorial I was looking forward to study your .pad but the link to download the .psd file on your website appart is not working 😣
*psd file, not "pad"
Looks great! Keep up the good work.
That was awesome
