My girlfriends 2022 Taos has only gone through regular maintenance every 5k miles, there was an evap canister issue at the beginning of January, but got it taken care of. 2 years and going strong!
Thank you for this excellent video. Just leased a 2024 Taos 3 days ago with 11 miles on it. I pray there are no issues. Best always brother!! Robert NYC.
OMG… sorry to hear about these issues. I am aware from some people I know at a VW dealership that the stalling issue has been problematic. My 22 Taos SEL 4motion infotainment system has only one minor issue with the Bluetooth cutting out occasionally. As far as the Adaptive cruise control goes it works perfectly. The other night I got 40 mpg Highway on a short 71 mile trip with cruise control set at 70. I couldn’t believe I got such excellent fuel efficiency. The Taos is rated 32 MPG Highway for the 4motion. I’m very pleased with my purchase and highly recommend this vehicle!
My 23 Taos SEL is having ECP issues. They replaced the knock sensor which they said was dead, and now the RPM skyrockets to almost 3,000 barely accelerating. Also not to mention, my check engine light is on now. Only 11,300 miles
took a chance on a branded lemon '22 SE and just shutting off the stop-start (ACC button right of console) cured it. Will troubleshoot the sensors at some point but it drives PERFECTLY now and is a terrific drive. Something in the auto start-stop confuses the computer by preventing it from clearing memory on a restart and re-initiating the program's correct sequence. The engine and trans are used worldwide and both are very excellent - I think the best - offerings in their class. Hwy mileage in the mid forties, a hybrid can't compete in the long run of ownership. But yeah the cars electronic add-ons - not the essentials - need to be comprehensively addressed by VW.
I have a 2022 taos SE and it did this last week while i was pulling out from a restaurant. EPC light came on and other lights too. Would not turn on, the gas pedal just went all the way down with no resistance. Transmission did not work either. My dealership kept telling me its not under the recall for the fuel pump, but i know they sre not telling me the truth.
Hi. I have 2022 Taos. The rear brake pads and rotors are worn down. Only 16700 km. Someone told me it could be issue with the calipers stuck due to problem with the electric parking brakes. Hoping you can root cause the issue. And get VW to cover the expenses. Thanks.
@@nldas5138 VW should cover this issue. The rear pads have issues with being worn too quickly. I made another video about that while at the dealership if you want to hear how to resolve it.
This vehicle has been on my shortlist, but I have heard too many issues with these brand new Volkswagens. Its in my shirtlist because if its price point, but I need something reliable!😨
Just started having an issue? with my 2023 Taos orange car icon (emergency Assist?) showing up on dashboard and the steering wheel feels like a quick pulse of something going on. Did you have anything like that happen?
I had the same issue on a Ford, driving on the highway and it just died. Wait a few minutes and it started working again.. turned out it was the fuel pump
I wonder if it was just a fuel pump sensor connector that came loose. No money for the dealer so they changed the whole fuel pump. How do you know? Scribe a mark on your old fuel pump. When they replace it, they have to return you the old part. You can then take it to another mechanic to see it was really the problem.
@@CarshowRellStudios I think VW in general have fuel pump issues, I have a 2021 TCross comfortline, it died due to fuel pump issues, had to take it to the "main" dealeship 4 hours away, cause local dealership was trash

You got no fricken gas in the fuel tank. No miles remaining on trip odometer, and no gas in the tank. RTFM! Your fuel gauge says empty! Put 5 gallons of regular in the fuel tank.
I also have the same color and year. 14k miles engine light came on. They replaced the rear brakes as well. Took 5 days to replace it. I have another appointment for this issue next week.
@@michaelulrich3474 just replaced the brakes on this one at 9k miles few weeks ago. I heard the 2024 mode they worked out a lot of the kinks. Hopefully yours wil be sorted soon 🤞
‘24 should be fine, i believe VW did a lot of work to fix the issues. I’m planning on getting one soon. I think they look very handsome, almost like a baby Atlas, and i found even the AWD DSG was smooth (in my opinion). I spend a lot of time on the highway, especially in the winter, as well as driving on twisty mountain roads that dont get plowed much, so the AWD is pretty much a must now for me. All in all, i’d say a Taos (if it’s a 2024) should be okay now for a while. At least until the warranty is up, then i’d probably trade it for something else
