It’s a special thing to be able to make art with people you care about. We’ve decided to move forward with releasing the video for “Everything I Wanted” today because despite the pain and darkness in our world we must never stop trying to bring light into it.
I initially covered this song for the simple fact that I loved it, but now releasing it during all that’s going on has made me appreciate the track even more. The dreams we build up in our head aren’t always how we envision them. But, if we work at it, it’s possible to build the worlds we are dreaming of.
It’s funny when we first came up with the idea for shooting our cover we were aiming to shoot in a location that felt just as stark and beautiful as the lyrics and melody of “Everything I Wanted” and somehow we ended up creating something reminiscent of Billie’s newest video for “Your Power”. It’s funny how the universe can work like that. We uploaded our video within 24 hours of Billie’s.
I’ve never done a video like this before but a lot of what I’ve been working on this past year has been new to me.
