I used to live 5 blocks from Joan's old house in Lawton Oklahoma, which is still standing to this day. Every time I drive by that house I think of her. I was only 3 when she died, but feel lucky to have been alive at the same time as Joan. Brilliant person.
I've lost count of how many times I've watched this. It's so perfect! I think my favorite part is the transition from the bridge into the final chorus. Such perfect clip selections!
I like the way you chose this song for the video. It shows that Joan was both sexy and hard working, coming from a poor background she became a star. She is the image of the movie star for me, talented, gorgeous and humble.
Liftoffgirl: Thank you for your amazing dedication to this amazing talent & definition of MOVIE STAR. I've been spending days and days going through them all and am loving it all! I think she would be (and is) incredibly flattered by all of these tributes! I'm "after" her time but have developed an incredible adoration for this star and her work. Getting to see all of these amazing pieces, interviews and your tributes is really wonderful! Thank you so much for sharing it all with us!!!
I'm going to lay all my cards on the table for this one. Brace yourself, because I only speak the truth: I've been a worshipper of The Legendary Joan Crawford for many, many years [she's above both of my other top 3 icons, Madonna and Bowie]. And I've also downloaded quite a few montage tributes of my icons. Set to some decent, great and lame tunes. THIS VIDEO rocks out ALL of them. If Joan were alive today--granted that she'd have to keep in touch with modern music trends--she'd be honored.
Joan would've probably loved this...she was pure Golden Era perfection! I've always thought the much younger version of Joan resembles Olivia Wilde, ofcourse Joan's facial features were not as soft as Olivia's are.
Actually people comment on how Lindsay Lohan resembles Joan. Freckles and all! They have the same facial structure. They couldn't be farther apart in self-discipline but look at Lohan's pictures and you can see Joan.
Olivia Wilde would be adorable as the young Joan (circa Grand Hotel), Gillian Anderson could play the more adult Joan (circa Mildred Pierce) beautifully and Brooke Shields would be perfect as the older Joan (circa WEHTBJ?).
Can I just say I love this video, watch every day! It's so perfect and fun to watch, you did an excellent job on the mixing of video and the song!! Well done!!
Bravo. Such a spectacular collection of clips. And the song is perfect...it's Joan to a t. You have a great talent in pulling this together. Thanks so much for sharing a passion.
there's a clip of Joan throwing something at 3:24 and Barbara Stanwyck is with her. I have a still of that picture but I don't know where it's from. Do you know?
To answer a seven year old question, it was taken at a polo match in June 1936. Joan's husband Franchot Tone was sitting between them in the pictures I've seen, but I guess he got up to go the the bathroom or something when they took this.
Without Joan, Bette wouldn't have had What Ever Happened To Baby Jane, one of her most famous and most respected film roles. She should have been grateful instead of horrible.
why does she look SO DIFFERENT before grand hotel and after. all of the early and mid 1920s stuff looks like a difft woman entirely. is it just me? well done video btw. thanks.
Joan is an immortal at this point. A timeless star whose appeal transcends space and time. Very fitting musical & visual tribute.
I love you.
Two words is all i need to describe MIss Joan Crawford, screen goddess.

History LVr
Joan's face actually had a lot in common with Gillian Anderson. Maybe if Gillian had bigger teeth?
Actually people comment on how Lindsay Lohan resembles Joan. Freckles and all! They have the same facial structure. They couldn't be farther apart in self-discipline but look at Lohan's pictures and you can see Joan.
Ana Nouri Yes Gillian does...
Olivia Wilde would be adorable as the young Joan (circa Grand Hotel), Gillian Anderson could play the more adult Joan (circa Mildred Pierce) beautifully and Brooke Shields would be perfect as the older Joan (circa WEHTBJ?).

The way I thought the music would be from _Matilda_

No body beats J.C Bette was a hater lol

dalmationham Hair changed colour and style, and eyebrows became more thicker...
One word OK. Joan
Those LAVISH furs!
damn ..i dunnno..but she was pretty hot looking until she was in her mid forties...
Those short hair styles of the 1950's were so unflattering,
Even Liz Taylor looked awful in them
