Thanks Laura , I guess the BA have great role in combination with the PO in the pre project work , like define the business needs , implement gaps analysis , develop the business case , select the most cost effective and viable solution ....etc.
It is possible that Agile teams think they don't need a BA because they tend to think as BAs always defining all the functional requirements up-front in a cascade-style approach instead of incremental. I've seen many BAs trying to define every requirement in detail in a FRD while agile devs are more used to define their requirements as sprints go on. Do you see a difference in the approach there or am I wrong in some way? Thanks for the video!
Hi Marcelo, BAs on agile teams tend to be much more iterative and not do all the requirements upfront. In fact, that's becoming an increasingly standard best practices no matter what methodology the company uses, and something we teach BAs to do for increased effectiveness in our BA Essentials Master Class.

At the same time I am hesitant to put a Business Analyst on every team. The Agile Manifesto has a principle that adresses this issue: "Business people and developers must work together daily throughout the project." So the Manifesto proposes not to install a bridge role but have frequent face-to-face conversations and build a deep and mutual understanding of the task at hand.

It really depends on how the roles are defined inside your teams and organization. We do see many business analysts filling product owner roles, however.

Then what would product owners do? I thought they are suppose to be prioritizing & also understand business value / and changes needed
It depends on the team, often the BA supports the PO and the PO is then more customer/external-facing.

You are so welcome. Perhaps instead of focusing on the communication aspect, focus on the analysis and the value that could add to your agile teams.
