The guy on the winning team is leaps and bounds better than everyone else. His agility isn’t what’s great, his decision making on putting the opponents in bad positions. His lob technique is really nice to watch
other comments from regarding the evolution of this sport. 1. 18:17 the guy that hit the ball is making the call outlaid whether the ball is in, thats crazy, always should be returning team, but that leads to 2. This should even be an issue because you should have line judges at any professional level. That or hawk eye.
Along with the other comment, if your partner moans or grunts when they are playing pickleball, it's your job to tell them it is annoying and distracting so the rest of us don't have to suffer
Is this an unspoken rule? I've never witnessed people complaining about grunting/yelling. It's common in tennis and almost all physical sports. If it gets out of hand, or is creating an advantage, the umpire should call it out.
I got yelled at by a lady by a court over for grunting while playing singles. Listen, I’m not going to apologize for breathing. If you can’t handle noise during pickleball than that is absolutely a you problem. Get over yourselves stop trying to dumb down where this game is going, more athletic, harder, faster and competitive. Adapt or get out is how I feel.
Absolutely 100% @@airwalkmike even though this sport can be played in a relaxing way, that is the opposite of high-level, pinnacle pickleball. A great example of the massive spectrum of pickleball!
Anyone complaining about grunting, this is tennis in its early days. As the sport became more athletic grunting (product of higher effort into each shot) became normal. ua-cam.com/video/eZuHFIljKzQ/v-deo.htmlsi=Rr3a6imQa3UlK6Wf
Great contrast! There are no rules against "grunting" and those that are bothered by it need to work on their sensitivity to noise. If the grunting is blatant, the ref can call it out like in Badminton, Tennis and Table-tennis. But that's extremely rare as it has to be explicit, blatant attempts to distract the opponent.
lol, both teams grunt at some point. Grunting is going to become more and more common the harder and harder people hit. When tennis first started, no one grunted. It’s the evolution of sport.
His partner was getting murdered near the kitchen making those unforced errors and you could see the other team taking advantage of her weakness. He was jumping in to help take off the pressure and move the dink between him and the other dude. They probably understood each other and the end results is a win.
I checked 12 of his serves in this video and they were all well below his waist. And correct me if I'm wrong, I didn't see them ever get a point directly from his serve. In pro play it's very, very rare a serve is questioned. Even illegal serves aren't called often as they aren't giving any advantage.
Amazing shots and focus ❤

lol i think it’s from her tennis background.

Grunting on every shot
Quit with the paddle tapping nonsense already.
That constant grunting….. that team would beat me, I’d have to forfeit before I was grunted into madness.

The guy Roman is not playing in his lane which is getting on my nerves. He's hogging the ball and got burnt a few times because of it

I think Paul Warner's serve is illegal. Unless if they don't apply the new rule
He sure tosses that ball pretty high and makes contact high as well
commenters just love to police the serve thinking it's making a difference.

very much so
It is illegal if the new rule is applied but it was only meant to be a beta for ppa. It is not official for non pro play.
First serve return into the net🤦♂️
