- DarkHeart - Randall D. Standridge - Grand Mesa Music (Grade 2.5). The final movement of the Darklands Symphony depicts an escape from the cursed castle, DarkHeart. Our heroes run through hallways, dungeons, and caverns, before confronting the monster DarkHeart himself, spirit of the living castle.
Never quit band, the memories you make there never leave and you always will feel fondly to epic pieces like this.

Darklands march is a lot better than this one, in my opinion, but this is still a favourite in our band.

We played this my 8th grade year, my class has chosen this to be our senior song to play at graduation as our last performance together. This song is the root of many core memories:)

Randall Standridge is this supposed to be similar to IronHeart? I played that one and I recognize similar rhythms but in a much darker tone. I sincerely enjoy your style of composition.

I’d be really surprised if you see this Randall, but this piece truly is amazing. I find it so amazing that you put so much emotion into your pieces and I wanted to tell you that you really made so many people’s band experiences, including myself.

Stuffed Cinema , yep, actually working on it right now. "Darklands Suite" which will make up the 3 middle movements of the symphony. The whole Symphony will be:
Darklands March (1.March Through the Dark Forest)
Darklands Suite (2. Dance of the Mad Prince, 3. The Serpent Priest and the Black Bell, 4.The Queen's Masque)
DarkHeart (5. Escape from DarkHeart Castle)

I played this song back in 8th grade, and i loved it, now it's the 10th 2 years later and for our big four day concert we get to play Iron and Ice: A Vikings Adventure for Christmas. I love it and I am so happy that I haven't quit the band yet. And being the bass Clarinet of the band is so great.
Our band is practicing this song, for spring concert. I wish I knew where my director gets all these songs!

I agree, I’m playing this for our spring concert, and my partners have absolutely fallen in love with it. Mr. Standridge, my school band has played some of your songs like Blue Sky Horizon. It was a pleasure playing and I think my band fell in love with that one too. Though to say, it was quite hard for a bunch of 7th graders.

I had the pleasure of playing the timpani part of this in 8th grade, which was great cuz I got to play real loud. The way we played it was slightly different in that I was the loudest part of the band, catching the attention of the crowd.

When we played this song the other instaments wouldn’t be quiet at 0:09 and the other Parts like this so (I play clarinet) when we had to play they were louder then us but that makes since theirs only 4 clarinets out of a 40 person band. I always seem to have a really soft reed (I play 3.0) so I play really loud and ms Dereece (my band teacher) tells me to be quiet but this time after class and told me “donn. play loud! Like really loud” because the others can play quite. I ended up playing to loud…
