How To Unlock A Theftlock Radio

- How to get the theft lock code for Chevrolet, Pontiac and GMC cars and trucks. This tutorial works with most cars from 1997 - 2003 the demonstration is done on a Camaro / Firebird stereo, but is the same for other decks. If none of the dealer codes in the video work, google the phone number 1-800-537-5140 and you should be able to find more updated dealer ID numbers.

This just worked for my 99 Yukon… the 2 sets of 3 digit codes were identical on my unit… called number provided, entered 10610 and got my 4 digit code. First digit was a 0, ignored as directed, entered the remaining 3 and back in business. Thank you very much!!!!

Oh good! I was worried that this would be an outdated video, like either the phone number or the dealer codes weren't good anymore, but it's nice to see that someone was still able to use these numbers very recently!

Worked on my dad's 2000 Buick Century. I am borrowing his car while my truck is in the shop. Radio has been locked for a year and a half since the battery was replaced but he wasn't bothered. Thanks for great instructions, greatly appreciated!!

I can't thank you enough for posting this. After my Chevrolet truck was crashed, my mechanic claimed he didn't know how to fix this and sent me to a dealer. The local dealer wanted $50 to diagnose it...who knows if that would have included the full minute of time it would have taken to fix the problem.

NICE!!. Dealer was going to charge my wife $130 dollars and I followed the procedure on this video and got the 4 digit code. The 6 digit dealer code that worked for me was the 3rd one. Thank you!!

This worked for me on the 1st time. Also first dealer code works. Thank you. I watched your video in February of this year on a long trip from Florida to Arizona to unlock the radio the first time. It would have been a much longer without your help Sir. I messed around and unhooked my battery forgetting where I wrote my code, and looked up your video for a 2nd time. Wow, I wish I had seen this video 2 years ago! I had it on LOC for 2 years and I was dreading to see and pay a dealer to get the codes. The former owner of my Chevy passed away so I didn't know the code until I happened to browse youtube today. Recently had to change my battery on a car i bought used in 2002. BTW, the battery lasted almost 14 years, manufactured in June-2001. Anyway, the security was set by the previous owner.
It took about 8 minutes to do and thanks to this video couldn't have been easier.
You and the others that take the time to document this stuff are proof that the internet isn't full of cat videos and mean bitter trolls.

OMGOSH, Thank you very much, I had to put a new battery in my daughters truck. Low and behold it locked the radio. I followed all your steps called the 800 number, got a code and the damn thing came back on. The dealer wanted 75 bucks and said they could not be sure it was going to work, I told them it worked fine until I changed the battery, theives these ppl are.....Now just have to find a way to do my 03 and I will be extra happy....

Thank you so darn MUCH. I THOUGHT ALL HOPE WAS lost until i spent basically all night searching for answers! My car hasn't ran in two years. Just replaced the motor and i took the old one out and put a store radio in. Since it wasn't working i sold the store radio and didn't remember where i put the original one. So i was forced to go to the junk yard and find another one. And the dealer said 130 bucks for a two min job. What a rip off. But thank you for your help.you just don't know!!!!!!!!!!!!

we recently bought a 2002 suburban, The radio worked perfectly...The Battery died and the LOC light came on. We follow your directions verbatim. the first code we received was 4250,, the hour setting would not go that high. so we used another set of the numbers and received the same code. again we tried another set and finally received a different set 1802. it worked perfectly......THANK YOU FOR POSTING. Thanks so much we have a car that we just purchased for our 17 year old girl and the only major problem for us was the stereo and it was locked and we didn't know that, and we got confused. We read about it in the manual, but couldn't find the code. So we put some research in to it, and found out that we could pay $100 to have it fixed. We knew that it was too much money to pay so we looked further. We found this, tried it out, and wala, it works.

Confirmed that this works! You are AWESOME! My battery died in my 98 blazer, replaced the battery, and my stupid radio is locked. Wanted to fix it with a hammer and swearing, but found this video. The local dealerships wanted between $40-50 just to run my VIN# and give me the code to my OWN DAMN RADIO! Either way, thanks a lot!!!
so glad i found this!! got a 2002 S10 couple months ago and locked radio so had that dealer take the 60-70 bucks they said a GM dealer would charge me for them to do it off the truck...yea saved myself some money..
Just got the 6 digits from my radio and called the GM helpline and got the 4 digits code for unlock really works very well.

Worked like a champ, picked up an un-tested radio at thrift store was an upgrade for my existing radio as new one is newer with cd and tape, dang if it wasn't locked when I powered it up ...... watched your video, got the code--- up and running Thanks so much..

106010 then typed in the 6 digit and he gave me her 4 digit number to unlock her radio. Thanks a lot! Her radio is working now! We have been on this for 3 hrs and now I finally get to go to bed at 1:15am! Gotta get up for work in 3hrs. If it wasn't for you I probably wouldn't got any sleep for work in a few hrs. This worked wonders for my radio. I however, put the minutes in after the hours and after a week realized I was doing it wrong. Thank you, because my mechanic father said there wasn't a way to fix it, lol.

This worked, Thank you! I had to try a few times. The first few codes did not work, but 106010 worked for Chevrolet. Also after entering the 6 numbers + *, it took a while and timed out and hung up. I dialed in again and it worked. Also of note, the SEC can be disabled so this doesn't happen again.

Thank you very much you really solved my problem, my car was lost power and I change the battery and the radio was locked, asked mechanics referred me to GM dealers and have to take an appointment with them and costs $100.

It's interesting that some sites say to use # instead of *, I may have been doing that wrong before and I did notice that my calls were blocked after too many wrong attempts. Thanks again!!!

I unlocked my Saturn Ion 2006 radio by taking it out disconnecting it from power, replacing the power line connector only. I pressed 1 and 2 keys together and turned my car on and then I pressed the 1 and 2 keys together again and the radio began to work perfectly again. The problem was caused when I left my lights on and the battery was completely drained. Try just pressing the 1 and 2 buttons together and see if that will work for you?
