Steve's Learning Lab... I live in Southern California near Palm Springs....and I use Agricultural Shade Cloth to cover my grow area....with an over lining of Green House Plastic for the winter months... seems to work so far....just sharing.
I'd check the soil DAILY using the "second knuckle" test. If the soil is moist down to the second knuckle of your index finger when you push it in the planting mix, it won't need watering but if it's dry, then give it a good drink (using water that you let stand so there is no chlorine or chemicals in the water) until it runs out the drainage holes of the pot. Then check it daily using the same testing method with your finger, since it's so hot there.
Hi, Is it still alive? How big is it now? Any new mango plants? In your reagion yours will fruit. When you get a polyembryonic seed variety, like Kensington Pride,Nam Doc Mai and lot others, in 2-3 years. Monoembryonic seeds like this ( one shoot grows only from the seed) are giving less tasty and more fibrous fruits, much later than a true to type polyembryonic seed.Nice size. I live in a climate where they do not grow( Middle Europe), i still try them to grow in containers. My experience is, to start them germinating in February inside, till summer, cause they will have more time to grow till September. During winter they grow fast nothing at me. When they reached the height a bit above 2 feet, i tip prune them. Basically you cut off the highest section. You have to pay attention, where the bunch of leaves are, and have to cut right above the leaf stems. Leave half inch above it maybe.Multiple shoots will coming from there.If you cut it under, it will grow one section lower, if no leaves between. I have now two plants fast your size, so i have to tip them slowly. My oldest monoembryonic small tree is about 4 years old. It has a trunk of 1,5 inches width, 4 feet tall, but still no fruits. If you grow it in a pot, it needs some fertilizers sooner or later. I am not a gardener or mango expert though. Thanks Adam
For my mango trees that I grow from seed, I will probably never plant it in the ground because I do not live in a tropical climate. I live in a desert region and the climate here is very hot and dry in the summer and cold during the winter. My tree will be fine if I keep transplanting into larger pots. Keeping it in partial sun in the summer and bring indoors in the winter. Thanks for the comment and for watching.
Bart loves Blunts ...I know it takes longer to bear fruit if grown from seed vs grafted..but from this video's title and what he said in the video he is growing from seed
Poor Groot got destroyed by my dog. The plant was thriving and reached almost 4 ft tall. I plan on growing more closer to the spring. Thank you for watching!

You need to tip it now - cut off the growing tip, and will bush out. I grow these all the time, but I live in Southeast Asia.

You're right! They don't like direct sun but bright indirect light. And yes, they LOVE lots of humidity! Mist it every so often.

Steve's Learning Lab graft the tree and you get fruit in 1-3 years but if you don't graft it could take 10-25 years
