    thx! love this series tutorial! is it possible to use a video to replace the image then get the same effect? i've tried to use a video however the effect only occurs when the video stopped.

      That is because this is a feedback system: The patch is always using the result of the distortion as the beginning point for the next frame. You can completely remove the visual feedback and just use distortion - The video goes to the left inlet of jit.gl.pix, and the 3D noise to the right inlet. As long as the 3D noise is constantly changing and the video is playing, you should see distortion happening.

      @@HearingGlass There is one thing I didn't notice before and i really tried hard to work on it..but i'm failed. The distortion looks nice, but how can we keep the "water painting feedback effect" generating at the same time the video's playing ? Probably it looks like the patch you made ua-cam.com/video/H8lcTcDrV9E/v-deo.html ,the effect still work on the new color while the previous effect will be vanished.
