Makes you think, that it is basically no different from a human body (other than thinking) each object has a role in a machine, same as a body and you could often hear machines live, this is why I love engineering!

The Marble Conveyer Belt is Completed and it delivers.
    - lifts 8 marbles per crank turn.
    - thanks to it being driven by ratchets and pistons, it makes a short halt to load and unload the marbles, on exactly the same spot every time.
    - The pistons are connected to the crank shaft with a 2:1 gear reduction which means that the conveyer belt go in time with the music, and in half time. I can even use the mechanical sounds from the ratchets and the marbles climbing the fish stair to create parts of the beats.
    - I only had one kick drum channel up and running so the kick drum plays on 2-4 like a snare normally would. Sounds a little strange but I just made this piece of music to demonstrate the concepts are working. (no music you hear in the videos are going to be used for the album, its quick and dirty functional pieces for the videos only)
    - Its been a journey but we are now on our way. Again.
    - the throw of the pistons s 40mm, the pitch of the chain is 15,875x2 mm, an imperial value, and it happens to be exactly twice the marble diameter. All this makes it possible to lift exactly one row of marbles per crank turn. The ratchets move 40 mm but only grabs onto the chain to move it exactly 31,75mm per crank turn.
The carriers are flame polished cnc:ed acrylic
    - The chain was custom made in Japan and I waited 5 months for it to be delivered. haha. Of all the time consuming darlings on the MMX I love the conveyer belt /fish stair combo the most.
    - the marbles looks like they are stuck over the demagnetiser wheel, this is by design, as soon new marbles come into the pipes from below, the marbles are slowly pushed over the demag wheel which ensures perfect demagnetisation.
    - thanks for watching and believing in the project, good luck with everything that you are doing!
    Martin

Rewatching the series over the last few days, I can TOTALLY understand now why Martin has redesigned and rebuilt so many parts of the machine over and over again. It's because this man is dedicated to give us, the viewers and by extension the audience, the absolute best machine he can possibly make. You can see now rewatching these videos where all those small failures have been adding up- machine wobble, marble clogs, marble divider problems, release gates, all those things combine to make a subpar machine. Not a subpar machine if the goal was to play it a bunch of times on film and hope one take is flawless, like the last machine. But a subpar machine if the goal is to have a >99.9999% reliable touring instrument that will give us the best damn show that Martin feels compelled to deliver. I believed then, and I still believe now. We're rooting for you Martin, you are a god damn inspiration!

I just listened to this video again. It brought tears to my eyes. GOD has inspired me through you, Martin, and all those who have worked on this project with you. keep investing your talents. There is times of pruning, and most don't submit to it, but you have... there will be more fruit in due season...

I have tears from watching that. Happy tears from watching the hard work all come together and finally pay off. Definite ASMR feels... so damn good that I have to keep watching it! I know it's not perfected yet; yes there's still marbles on the floor at the end, but this is a huge leap forward to see the marbles getting a shakedown and a freeride back to the top. Excellent work Martin =)

This is what I imagine a steampunk bionic heart beat sounds like. Whirring gears, perfectly timed deep thumps, smaller clicks as valves flick open and closed. Pumping coolant around the synthetic body. Or maybe a music box brought to life from a spell/curse.

Respectfully request that you play and record the original marble machine song on the new Marble Machine X. It would be cool to compare the old with the new (perhaps in a split screen side by side video). This would definitely pass the cool factor! BTW congratulations!!!
