Didn’t watch the game but watching these highlights makes me seriously wonder what we’re gonna do about IQ. Davion and Jamal are exactly what we need at the 1. IQ’s speed and deep shooting is nice but we need strong on-ball defense and gritty play that I don’t think IQ can provide.
@@spikes20what’s “starter quality?” If a player fits with the top 2 players in the starting lineup, they should start. They don’t need scoring as Barret and Barnes need the ball to be effective, and Dick as one of their best slashers and shooters. They don’t need a whole lot of playmaking as B and B can easily give 6+ assists a game. They just need a PG who can fit in the Raptors motion offense and can make the right play and make efficient passes like DM and Shead VanVleet. All they need at the 1 is a strong Point of Attack defender, which IQ never will be, and DM and JS are

Even our ring in '19, we had Lowry who was an all star and Pascal who was most improved player to go along with KL. If we're paying Quick like he has superstar potential (because he does), it would be foolish to get in our own way
IQ is not a starting quality PG hes a SG, maybe someday - hell maybe he is ready but is never healthy so who cares Raptors have 4 backup PGs - Shead and especially Davions passing is atrocious, they have moments but thats about it. Scotties handle isn't (ready basically) and he looks like he is still be adjusting to his growing height and most importantly his offense suffers when hes the #1 defender, same as last year.

There’s no such thing as a bad pick especially in a deep draft and especially with how good Raptors scouting is. Most superstars in the league aren’t top 5 picks, even top 10. There’s a few potential superstar centres projected to go 8-12 in the draft, which the Raptors need to eventually replace Poeltl in the future. They’ll be fine
