@premierrules The crowd actually booed the 2 5.6s for technical merit since they were too high. And they were right, the 4.7 was much closer to the truth.
@@divineson1681OP isn’t even hating… If you try a quad and under rotate it you’re obviously going getting deductions. Plus her program was filled with mistakes. You can stop fangirling now.
Jumps were a disaster, and her presence and choreography are really lacking. I can see why she was 10th. Her sportsmanship was also very poor. A most forgettable skater who deserve little of the hype that was created around her
+metsedudenj I love how the crowd booed the two 5.6s only which were the two highest marks. Clearly showing they thought those marks for technical merit were too high (which they were). Rare the crowd boos the high marks. She was way overscored. How she was scored over Kiellmann at this event I dont understand at all.
thanks, agree 100 percent. There is some idiot on here, Scott something, who thinks she was the best skater ever and carried on with me for 2 weeks because I said she sucked.
Scott Fiero well they booed the two 5.6s but no other marks. What does that tell you. You have to admit 5.6 technically is way too high for this skate. Her only clean triples were the triple toe-triple toe combo (even there the 2nd triple was underrotated but it was close enough I will count them).
Language Today Not forgettable in the least. A non-conformist with her own unique style. She 'muscled' her way across the ice and into her jumps. I chuckle when I watch her and compare her to the other skaters!😃😃
That was one of the best Biellmann spins she ever did at 3:06
She might not have won gold, but Surya is the one I remember, not the others.
Wow! That's the costume inspired in the "traje de luces" that Christian Lacroix desinged for her. Marvelous.

I agree with the commentators about Surya's meddling mother. Her mother reminded somewhat of a scheming witch.
Turn pro and get paid. The skating world had a type and they judged everyone in that mold (Oksana Baiul)
Just like Denise Biellmann who went Pro at 17😞
@ErisTheVorta No, it was at the 1994 World Championships
4.9 and 4.9
All the Hardships and Racism she Indured from the Skating Federation AND Judges😞
1992 you kidding of course they were
Haha at the crowd booing the two 5.6s for technical merit. Presumably since they are too high.
Stop hating!!!! Nobody was doing a quad jump back then... These new chics COULD NEVER do a backflip on one leg! HUSH

These white commentators used to hate on her so much. Shes AMAZING!
To be fair this was far from her best.
Most of her jumps were not clean and she was less into the choreography than ever.
Not here she isn't!!

U can explain if not deserving of the hype20 years ago, what is she twenty years later, being better known than most all your favorite skater's
