Man, that old food court was probably my favorite of any mall i went to as a kid Was crazy going there before the remodel and see where they shot everything in Mallrats - we were big fans of the movie as a kid and that it was made kinda close to us was pretty amazing, hollywood seemed a million miles away
I've spent many hours in that mall, but I never noticed the stairwell to the basement. When you came back up the stairs, it seems maybe you were facing the coffee kiosk? So maybe the stairs are near the elevator? I'll have to look for them the next time I'm at the mall.
Christmastime is when I usually find myself at this mall. The whole look of it lends itself perfectly for Christmas decorations. Great looking mall and really happy it's still doing well. Did not know about the basement. Love the video!
I like the Frank Lloyd Wright touches they have added here. The art deco logo is classy also! I’m headed over to Fashionable Male because the customer is always right! 😂😂😂 Then I’m picking up the schooner (sailboat) eye relaxation poster. 👀👁️
Great video! I was excited to see this one. Felt the same cozy vibes from Valley West/Jordan Creek time period. Glad they filled the Sears with the Scheels. Wondering how the JCPenney situation will end up? Keep me posted.
Ah yes, Eden Prairie: home of the red stop light, or lights changing on you for no oncoming traffic! Home of the big chains only, condos and carwashes! Oh something's new being built? Great, ANOTHER car wash! Everything is vanilla except for the parks and trails.
US 1 Flea Market was awesome back in the day! I am from that area of NJ. The market was unfortunately full of knock off fake name brand garbage in its final years. The Loews movie theater was definitely amazing for its time, but the flea market would be better to have around. 😢
EP is indeed insane to try to navigate -- and they say St. Paul is weird!
I LOVE this mall. That kid is BACK ON THE ESCALATOR AGAIN!

my childhood mall❤ my mom would take me to sears, gap, express, VS, bath & body works, Sbarro, and kohl’s all time 😭
We still go there quite often.

Thank you!
Thanks for a little Christmas in August!🎀🎄
Thank you so much!
Please tell me where that cool fish tank is located.
That’s on the main floor of Scheels.

Thriving seems a bit strong, but it’s not a ghost town like many others.
How about a tour of that zoo inside Maplewood Mall?
I wonder if its 1970s decor was a bit like the original Maplewood Mall?

A carwash business is a great way to launder money 💵 🫧🧼 😉

Must have been busy if you shot this 9 months ago, update shot it and then re-edited it before upload.
