Lego: The Grand Army of... Something

- I have built machines for a mighty army. There is a small suit of power armor, equipped with a sword, a jetpack, and two grenade launchers. And a sleek fighter jet that is able to convert between atmospheric and space combat modes, bringing death on all fronts with two cannons and a Gatling gun. But greater than all of them is 'The Humbler', a giant grey and golden mech with missiles, a Gatling gun, a flamethrower, and a sword. The Humbler also has two thinner, folded arms that it can use to repair itself if damaged.
Now I just need to answer the questions: Who are these nuts? And who are they fighting? I have the machines, but no story or enemies whatsoever. Please give me your ideas in the comments.

This is pretty sweet! The armor and designs of your soldiers and mech remind me of Warhammer and Starcraft. The fighter reminds me of the Quinjet or the Pelican, except much cooler (I like how you gave it multiple, poseable jets).
I especially like your mech. You put a lot of neat details into it, and I feel the secondary arms is a very creative idea, for repair, as you mentioned, and perhaps for lifting small objects (like wounded ally soldiers for example.)
Thanks! I usually stick to science and practicality all the time, but I just gave up on the gunship and decided to make it just cool looking. I'm glad you like it!As for the mech, I was really inspired by this guy: conceptrobots.blogspot.com/2011/08/concept-robots-by-alexander-iglesias.html He frequently has more than 2 arms on his mechs, because why not? I thought it made so much sense that I used the idea.

Good to see some creativity in the lego community still. these builds felt very unique, the color pattern, the decorative yet functional features of the mech, and the familiar space shuttle type of craft but with a very fresh twist for the cockpit. very nice indeed.

Thats is freakin awesome. If you can manage to make an opposition to them, keep on making models of those sets, and see if you can get hold of a publisher, you could make yourself a buisness. Keep it up, and you could be moderately rich, and continue with the production of this lego theme. I would by far buy them in shops, and rate them at least 10/10. Keep up the gr8 work

I spent about 5 hours sitting in front of some grey legos, and at the end there was a mech there.

Hey dude I'd just like to say that these are probably one of, if not the most impressive LEGO creations I've seen. You combine functionality, durability, and detail together to create absolute masterpieces. How do you go about creating them? Do you start with a blank slate and just build piece after piece? Or do you sketch out a design that you like, building it and modifying it where necessary? And do you buy specific pieces you want from Bricklink or other sites? Or do you build with what you have?
+RetroNuva10 I have 8 brothers and a sister, and we all love legos. So, we get a lot of sets for birthdays and Christmas. Every time we get bored with a new set, it gets broken down and thrown into a vast array of bins. So, I just dig around for the pieces I need, and they're usually there.To build a creation, I usually start out with some vague idea of what would be cool. Not sketched out.I've found that if I start with a super-detailed drawing or some-such, then I often won't have the parts or means to make it exactly the same, and, if I substitute, the entire thing looks weird. Whereas if just build as I go, I can adapt, and I'm not constrained by what it's "supposed" to look like.Then, I think of what the crucial part of that creation would be, and start there. For instance, on this mech, I started with the head and shoulders, and built downward. If I'm building a spaceship, I usually start with the engine(s). If I'm making a tank, I invariably start with the treads and frame. Then I just put on whatever looks good, and whatever corresponds to my vague plan.So yeah.

I would say the enemies should be people in all red, all black or maybe black and red. The story should be, long ago there was a great battle between the dragons( enemies ) and the good guys ( don't have a name ) The dragons won as few soldiers remained. They started a rebellion or team to finally have the power to get their revenge.
Yeah. That works. Black and red would be a good color to face against these chaps.
