I got stuck at 2:10. It appears to be a default password. It didn't prompt me to put in a new password. I had a friend try it also, in case I was doing something wrong, and he had the same result. I tried a variety of possible password options, and they all resulted in "The password you entered is incorrect." SMA can't be reached by email, and just getting the link to this video too over an hour of being on hold. I tried the PUK option, but can't understand how to apply for a PUK to override the password. Is there another video on getting a PUK?
the commissioing process seems fairly complicated i want to buy one of theses inverters im afraid i wont be able to get it running do you guys offer tech support to me as a home owner
The PV array is a current limited source, so the PV inverter output is always fairly limited. There should be no other loads on the output circuit to the PV inverter breaker, or they must be separately protected by a fuse or breaker. These breakers will trip if there is a short circuit upstream of the inverter.
Dude...good lord. For a homeowner to attempt any of this, you are using language they are not familiar with, and then flying through the instructions. You need to give folks a clear step by step instructional guide or something. WHERE can I get sent a paper copy of a step by step guide, so I can be of assistance to our customers?
Here is an example how someone would be lost right at about 42 seconds in....as you say: Note that the inverter firmware version is available on the 2nd screen with the name package....2nd screen? 2ns Screen of what? A persons phone, computer...somewhere on the inverter? Y'all need a guide book, as if you were explaining this to a 3rd grader. As my customers are so very frustrated, and they are having great difficulty. Where is a rep to talk to or meet up with in Austin Texas, I have 82 customers in the last 10 weeks, and I cannot keep getting phone calls with folks very upset.
@@brandimastain7154 the tech that installed the system should be doing the commissioning, not the homeowner and every inverter comes with a big manual on what everything does and means. Might want to look at your techs and nor the manufacturer. My customers are happy and their systems work and none of the stuff in this video is stuff they have to worry about.
@@brandimastain7154 These devices are not meant for 3rd graders to understand. Most of this is the installer's responsibility. Also, the manufacturer can't cover every single detail since the video would be longer than most attention spans. Find the video that talks about the inverter overview.
@@singerkgreen Who TH was the Program Manager? Sorry, but the installers/tech is having great difficulty. ME having difficulty. I do not understand why someone creates a product, for a very expensive purchase, yet...does NOT MAKE IT USER FRIENDLY. We switched to Growatt...Out of the last 106 customers, we have had 2 that had an error. By the comments on this the 4 techs and ME...aren't the only onces stumped on what seems a poor product.
We had to change our Wi-Fi for a dedicated system for our Sunny boy. And it seems to be absolutely impossible to change this information once it is put in. No one, the electrician or even the company seems to know how to correct this issue. I find that somewhat concerning
I have a problem that the public sunny portal doesn't connect over my marginal wifi,so it doesnt update on the portal,i cant figure out how to make it work over the ethernet wired cable only.
Being an electronic Tech for more than 30 years and using many different RTU MTU, PLC, hundreds of software, I would never buy this inverter , it's way to technical for the ordinary user, there are so many better family user oriented inverters today that work with IOS or other operating system for easy programing and updating, right now I am troubleshooting a friends solar system with this unit I am having arc faults on 2 seperate systems 2 different solar strings using two separate SMA inverters, Owner cannot get it resolved because SMA is blaming it on solar strings,, I have already tested solar strings and they are perfect in current and voltage with load and no load... SMA cannot resolve it, owner stubified, I simply told him, if it my system I would change the inverters to a customer friendly one..
Intermittent arc faults are difficult to troubleshoot. Just because your V and A are perfect when you check them, doesn't mean they will be later. These faults usually require and hand-over-hand inspection to spot the issue. Inverters have been known to flag false arc faults, though. SMA Sunny Boys are tough inverters and last forever. An end user is not supposed to be getting in-depth with parameter sets. That's the installer's job. No competent technical support crew wants a homeowner around high voltage.

They have pretty awfully tech support
The link to the "Cellular Modem Kit Installation and Commissioning" say it's private. It would be nice to see that.
Can you please share a commissioning video fro SMA TriPower Core 1 50-US inverter as well? I am trying to find one but I have not be able to find it.
Hello sir I'm very excited for you about the education
Is there any live program about this Sony boy and Sony island?? 📡
Hello, we are happy to hear this! What kind of live program do you mean exactly? Sunny regards, Max from the SMA Social Media Team
I purchased a used -41 unit and a -40 unit. the seller did not have the hardware packets for either unit. Can you tell me how to obtain these kits?
Dave - please contact Service@SMA-America.com to obtain the accessory kit.
WHAT happens if there is an overload or short circuit on the output ?
& when the solar panels are not receiving sun light?

I could not connect the Wi-Fi and hard wire to connect using cat cable and restart few times than it took it

@brandimastain7154 f16s are expensive and not user friendly. What's your point

Did you find what was causing the Arc Faults?
