Thanks a lot. Just a wuick question about writer's effect. Do we explain the implicit meanings in the quotes or the explicit ones? In order to mange a reasonable word count.
Hi, check out my recent writer’s effect video; I would follow my structure. Spend 30 minutes on it and don’t worry if you go over the word count. Thank you so much sir, this is a great help! Just a quick question - my teacher has been telling us that if we go over the word count they straight away stop reading our response? Is this true? My main issue with most writing types is the word count so would really love to hear your thoughts and if we are truly penalised as heavily for going over
Gosh - this is erroneous information. I used to mark myself… we are advised to read everything! Marks can be deducted if you lose focus… obviously the more you write the harder it is to sustain focus on the task/make careless errors.
Hi IGCSESUCCESS! If you see this before the exam, I followed everything on this video. However, on my February mock I went over the word count to like 400. I developed each bullet point but because I was over I got told it was an imbalanced focus of the bullet points and got marked down detrimentally. Was this correct marking and can I go over the word count in my exam? In fairness though, it is my schools first time doing the exam board so it may be wrong. 😄
You still want to write three equal sized (ish) paragraphs, so there does need to be a ‘balance’. Going over the word count is fine providing what you write is focused.
