They move aircrafts around the airport whether it's for servicing and maintenance, away from the gate on standby while freeing up the gate, or just need it moved to another location for whatever reason.They utilize them for longer hauls.Their different than the pushbacks you typically see at the gate Using the Sup Tugs helps save millions of gallons of fuel per year and is why they can always be seen towing planes around the airport daily. Hooking up to an aircraft and towing it is a lot faster than getting a pilot to do an inspection, start the engines, etc. It really is a cost effective fuel and time saver!
