I haven't played KH 0.2 but I still come here to like and leave the video
What's the Christmas song that goes in the tune of Ding fries are done?
Carol of the Bells
+Tanner Kreger Shit
Skips most of the chests
Complains at the lack of chests
we love you Cynical!
Neoshadows have always had those blue veiny looking designs on their heads, you just couldn't notice them before
the neo shadows always had those neon veins
I gotta say, for a game that was originally meant to be part of KH3, 0.2 was solid.
A number of people over the years seem to have this idea that the gameplay of most KH games after KH2 are flawed for being too difficult, whether it be from taking too much damage on Proud or higher, or often getting stun-locked and paying the consequences. I feel that a lot of players have grown too used to the idea that non optional battles can almost never be difficult enough to encourage them to learn more about certain mechanics that work best in particular situations, or how to predict some enemies actions from the ways they behave.
It's become so bad to the point that whenever you come across a non optional boss like Vanitas, you would end up losing a multitude times due to you not using more appropriate skills and abilities, and a lack of focus on attack patterns (example: after delivering a few hits, Vanitas will eventually seem to freeze, and then teleport behind you, striking with an attack, which seems similar to Blizzard Edge, about a second later. Best way to avoid the attack is to dodge as soon as you notice him freeze. I make it sound more complicated than it really is, but it's actually pretty easy). This may cause some people to think that these kinds of boss battles are poorly designed, but in actuality, there's just a trick or two to learn in order to defeat them that most of us neglect to use. I will say though, secret bosses in BBS are, by far, the worst designed bosses in the series, mostly because they almost NEVER give you room to breath; if it wasn't due to the fact that invincibility frames from using Dodge Roll/Cartwheel are basically infinite, bosses like Vanitas Remnant would literally be impossible to defeat.
0.2 seems to do things differently; while the story bosses may be quite difficult, none are actually poorly designed. Devil's Wave for example: while it's hard to predict when exactly it will attack during it's second phase, it can still be easily avoided as long as you're not at close range; it's easier to avoid getting hit by the stream of Heartless when dodging from a distance (of course, in the event where you can't get far enough away in order to properly dodge the attack, you're better off blocking with Barrier instead; not difficult as long you time it well enough). That's probably one of the reasons why they designed the area to be a huge wide open space. Plus, since the Devil Wave's core is normally high up, it makes it easier to see your surroundings when Locked-on to it; makes me wonder if that was intentional =|
It's even sometimes mentioned in-game (in the hints when you get defeated) that when the swarms of Heartlesses eyes stop making that orange glow, they're unable to attack. This makes it easier to anticipate when it's safe to attack; knowing how long you can afford to use normal attacks comes with experience. But even if you're not entirely sure when it's vulnerable, you still have your spells, and you can collect MP orbs if you wish, by destroying boxes around the area; MP orbs in this game restore significantly more MP than they do in KH1 and 2. I also think I remember being able to use healing items while in the air while playing.
One thing that I do think was flawed was the damage you take on Proud; it seemed to be on par with Critical modes. I suppose we should be thankful that this problem was patched =|
someone mind proof reading this? Took so long to write, I didn't have time to spellcheck ^___^U
I agree with pretty much everything you said. I just finished beating the game on Critical, and I can confirm that every enemy has a pattern. Average battles also keep you on your feet and can teach you advanced techniques if they are payed attention to. After many attempts and some good ol' practice, I was able to defeat every boss without taking any damage whatsoever. The game on Proud/Critical has a Dark Souls learning curve, and it made me realize how well designed the game really is. If 0.2 is any indication to the quality we can expect in KH3, then the game will indeed be a masterpiece.
TheLegendOfSora73 when was the game hard ? lmao it was easier then kh 2 critical mode. the "difficulty or lack there of" isnt whats wrong with the game. i loved the game but there were some problems in it
There's 3 flowers in total in this world and they represent the 3 fairies in sleeping beauty
Same as the gems in snow white's world, they represent the 7 dwarfs
AcunaMatata Oh my god, I never noticed...
Claudio Lancia It's in the objectives, jared scrolled past it in the last video haha
AcunaMatata And the gems represent the 7 Dwarves
the flowers and the gems in the mine will unlock more stuff for Aqua to wear, you can even track what your missing in the objectives menu
creepy af for me going through thornland, just a bunch of darksides staring down at you
I. passed you and met Mickey already. And Ven'd theme played again, it's so beautiful.
USE FIRE ON THE RED VINES!
And those flowers to pick up represent the three fairies
I think Neo Shadows having blue things has always been a thing. I definitely remember seeing them before in one of the secret movies, the one that had Roxas against a bunch of Neo Shadows and Riku.
Jib Bugs completely agree
Hey did anyone else notice when he casts fire the keyblade tip glows like a red-hot iron? Such a nice little detail.
Screaming my lungs and throat out at Cynicle to check his objectives for the gems and plant things and to use fire on the vines :/
Neoshadows have always had blue veins. Dark balls too.
Anyone else finish 0.2 and think..."that's fucking it?" I knew it wasn't gonna be a full game but holy shit was that short. Good thing I've never played DDD before otherwise I'd be pissed!
I was just excited of how the ending is leading right into Kingdom Hearts 3. It made me more excited.
KenerdG13 Same bro! . O.2 took me fucking 2 and a half hours to complete. They said it would take 6-8 smh
TAC CRUSHER They did say that but I think they said that with replay value.
to be fair, they said the game would be the size (or length...cant remember which word was used) of one world from KH3.....and for the size/length of one world that is really fucking exciting to me...especially if they were including the time it would take to do all the objectives (doubtful, but i can keep my hopes up xD) still though roughly 3 hours for one world is fan fucking tastic, especially if there end up being a ton of worlds in KH3.
+Tac crusherr, they were probably counting the objectives, which....is fairly accurate.
Aqua is queen when it comes to magic so they had to go all out with the magic system cuz that's her strong point
the raining balls of death have allways been a thing he just usually uses it at the end of a fight so you never see it
I would check the objectives more often, they tell you what the Gems and Flowers were for ^^;
TheGamersJoint the neo shadows had blue veins on their heads since the remix of 1.5 and 2.5
Awesome playthrough! But use firaga on those red vines man, on critical you can't get away with hitting them all 😂
The music wants you to know you're in a dark place. It's so depressing.
Right ;^;
Just thought i'd give you a heads up on those red thorns there Jared, you need to hit them with fire magic to avoid getting damaged. Also the gems and flowers are for objectives. I'm loving this game with Aqua. Already finished it all the way, except for many of the objectives as well as the Secret Boss Rush. Gonna need to train up Aqua a lot before you try that buddy, got my Aqua to lvl 65 so far and i still can't beat one of the bosses in there, i won't spoil it for ya but let's just say this boss is gonna test you.
Weird how they just watch Aqua run by and then beat the crap out the ones that's in the way. XD Seeing this makes me feel like Sora got it off easy from his first encounter compared to one and lived.
I just finished the game two days ago and i loved it!!!! probably going to play it again on a different level
Alfredo pasta bake. lol I could go for one of those right now. DAMMIT, CYNICAL! YOU MADE ME HUNGRY! D':
My parish priest's name is Alfredo, no joke
LOL I died when he called the Shadows the Darkside's cousins.
Obliviate248 yeah
That was a great video, Alfredo Pasta Bake.
pretttty sure darkside uses that dark ball attack in the first hour of kh1
you right
My boy!!! Why did you use heal when there was a Save Point that would heal you automatically? By the way GREAT work buddy!!! Keep it up!
I wish I had friends that were in Kingdom Hearts. Are you gonna do a video coverage about Kingdom Hearts Funko Pops that come out in March?
Minnie ears? I know it was only a matter of time before Aqua started looking like a One Piece character.
Aquas got hops dude
Gotta go fast playing as "Sonic's cousin."
once you collected the secret items you get to download the star wars Christmas special featuring donald duck in it
edit:actually the balls are a thing just they added more
giga blast just they added a dildoblade theme...
bobbylox that should be the theme when you synthesis a keyblade
+giga blast
'Balls' ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
I really hope the disney worlds becomes a bit more important in KH3 than in KH2
Notification squad baby
1:30 Aqua finds herb?? a roll up side obj?? ive seen everything
Man, I hate it when you leave those HP orbs lying around. I guess it's just my OCD or something...
also if you don't like using guard then you're going to LOVE the final boss :) ......but not really
It bothers me that he doesn't use fire or blizzard to break the thorn barriers
you the raining balls of death are very much a thing in KH 1 they just drop a lot slower
Cynical you have to use Firaga to get through those red chain thorns...thing
Neoshadows had blue veins in KH2 Jared ;)
Those Colectables represent Charters in the Dwarf woodlands it ment the dwarfs here it means the fairies
fire on the thorn jared damn it it's obvious just finish the game except the optionnal game
I swear even though we are mentioning to him do use firaga on the plants and not hit it because he will lose HP he will probably die from it maybe.
DAMMMMMMN! 0_0 they really went all out in this.... :( i cant watch these btw. Wanna save my innocence of not knowing whats in store. Ive spoiled myself enough with that short darksider battle... Fiagra FTW
Tanking them thorns
JARED, WHAT ABOUT THE NOMURA FARTS!
Part 5 well I'll be damned
Think of all the things could of done in 0.2 with reaction commands
WOW my walk through Suck awesome Vid Bro
You know you can destroy the red vines via fire spells. :-/
FIRAGA the Thorns dude.... -___-
sooo close to finishing the game next episode and it will be finished this game took me 4 hours to beat
Hello And Welcome to the Forest of the Darksides. Speak of the Darkside go look up and play Thrawns Revenge Cynical ok.
Are those Thorn Hallways pronounced "Root Routes," or "Root *Routes*" ?
Jordan Jacob RRRRRR. RHO ROWS? (Scooby Doo)
I beat the game first for the story, so I will play it again soon to go for more trophies.
Could the neo-shadows in 0.2 be a "pure" heartless since they are in the realm of darkness and as it says in kh2 one of the Ansem reports it states there are 2 types of heartless such as "pure" and "non-pure" and the way to tell is the little heartless symbol on the heartless symbolise they are "non-pure"
when did u finally learn to use firaga on the red thorns
cynical I know you probably already figured it out after the playthrough, but the red vines can only be destroyed with fire magic in order for you to not get damage from them
alfrado pasta bake? LOL
I just realized something
The bat enemies might be Bit Snipers. They're a pure-blood heartless that appears in the final ansem fight in KH1, i don't know for sure though. Can anyone help me to confirm or deny this theory?
red vines use fire on them
I got the pin for pre-ordering 2.8 and it's really cute
Christopher Morales me too
also make sure you get the secret ending!
I beat the game on proud mode and have no idea what those secret items or whatever do I might not have collected all of them though if you find out you should make a video about it
i wonder what Areoga situation command will be for KH3
Please longer videos of 0.2
Omgitzmichael AKA Mike46 he wants the dough !
How do you record your gameplay?
It really kills me that you don't read the objectives lolol
CatieCreates How are you not dead yet then
Im getting 0.2 next week ima add you cynical
Man, all these people with different channel names look a lot like Cynical! How many clones does this guy have? x3
BaerOn Entertainment he has OVER 9000 I know that's a old joke but I don't care
the veins where always there, its nothing new cynical
I just finished the game I'm sad about the ending and I'm not spoiling it but promise you won't spoil it for other people
Michaeliosgamer5 Aqua won't be rescued?
Xan Saibot no yes maybe I'm not spoiling it
Xan Saibot theres a convenient plot device in the ending which is pretty stupid. if youve played the other games you already know the ending. it just leads into kh3
I beat 0.2 almost 3 times already
Mystical Samurai same
Mystical Samurai i have. i beat standard proud and critical. tbh the final boss on critical was the easiest because i knew how to deal with the second part of the boss. just spam shotlock and elixirs
Powerfist 123 thanks for the tip because I haven't played critical yet
Aqua
his voice is the worst speaks through his nose
Makaroification yeah your probably right.... but dammmm his voice is annoying, maybe i should say he sounds like he speaks through his nose alright MATEY 😂
I beat the final boss on Proud on my first try.
Good on you, bub. It took me about 9.
Fuck you man, i needed 2 hours DX
So did I
I was so pissed though i killed myself on the thorns because of the darkside orbs and missed out on getting the complete the game without retrying trophy
wow congrats you beat him after the nerf
Brandon Christopher same thing here. day one. hopefully critical mode is harder lol i havent played the game since launch i have to get back into it
I heard that KH3 wont be released till December 2017
2020****
Really? Damn...
No release date confirm yet
more than likely 2018 good sir :p but like masterlightning said, no release date confirmed not even a year really...soooo maybe not even 2018? i doubt itll take longer than 2018 though now that its been confirmed to be the next KH title and nomura isn't working on final fantasy 15 any more this year so his schedule as far as im aware...is clear for nothing but KH3 focus
Don't forget Final Fantasy VII Re-make.
How come your fps feels so much better then mine lol
PS4 Pro
finally man, took to long hahahaha
the final boss really isnt that hard. and i discovered this strategy on critical. the first stage is probably the hardest part then when the boss goes into its final form just spam shotlock and elixirs
Not gonna lie, 0.2 sucked big time. The Story was such a joke, not to mention the plothole it opens up. I would've preferred we just got the ending cutscenes leading to KH3 instead of having to play through 0.2, because that's all it was good for. It's clear that Nomura just makes this shit up as he goes along.
Kick Matt's Fat Ass Squad what plotholes?
Powerfist 123
The fact that Aqua was there in KH1 the whole time and "protected" Riku who somehow couldn't be bothered to turn around to actually see her (seriously, he was right there). Also, the fact that Mickey explains to her that Sora and Riku are out saving the world and that Tera and Ventus are MIA directly contradicts her knowledge in blank points.
0.2 was fun as fuck though. That's enough to make up for it.
Kick Matt's Fat Ass Squad he probably didnt even notice them. and how was she supposed to know that it was Sora and Riku. at the time Terra and Ventus were the only keyblade wielders she had known and she didnt know 10 years had passed by then
Powerfist 123
"he didn't even notice them" is a dumb excuse. He was like 10 feet from them and doesn't even acknowledge their existence. It felt forced beyond belief, even with Mickey's shirt mysteriously disintegrating just so hes shirtless just like in KH1. It was a forced retcon just so KH0.2 could have a connection to the other games.
Also, in Blank Points which takes place after KH2, she clearly doesn't know about Sora and Riku, which is why she asks Ansem the Wise if the boy is Tera or Ventus. But in 0.2 Mickey explicitly tells her Sora and Riku are the ones saving the world and that Tera and Ven are MIA. If that were the case, she would know about Sora and Riku already and it wouldn't make sense for her to assume it was Tera or Ven.
gotta love the missunderstanding. "Kingdom Hearts is a Disney game" it's not
I guess technically is... the same way The Force Awakens is a Disney movie. In other words... only on paper.
Damn bro you're really trying to make this a long ass let's play huh?
Cynical da fuck are you talking about ma boi the neoshadows since KH1 had the blue thingys
I beat the game in 2 hours and 23 minutes. I thought you said the game was 6-8 hours long smh
Who the fuck said that? Never heard anyone claim anything over 4 hours max.
And you get a bit more than that if you are fully completing it with secret boss and all objectives done.
I heard that Jared didnt pinned comments
Do a video on what's inside dem feet.
do you have to be hit by the thorn vines
A nobody who's somebody no use firaga
No you don't you can just cast Firaga on them and they go away.
jared doesn't know that tho
I thought you were asking. Sorry bro, I misunderstood ya there.
i was actually asking , and thanks for answering
I have some information on the development of Kingdom hearts 3 message me
I u understand the levels of salt on this thread, but think! Usually they release shit like this to help fund for a major game. * cough cough* kh3?!?!
What he said, so i guess do that you Donald! (p.s. that wasn't meant to be sounding mean if it did, it was a joke plz don't hate me!)
I was really angry in yhis part
How come the shortcuts menu shows the whole button
What do you mean? You want it to show only half of the button?
why is his health bar so long???
ThatOneKiwi and? my aqua is level 96 and my health bar has never been that long on any playthrough
Ethan S he's playing on standard mode for this lp so that's probrably why
Jonathan Reyes okay, that one makes sense I started on proud then jumped to critical
easy or profi mode?
just want to say poop
