I am surprised no one has given you the history of these guys. Leonid, the "old guy" decided to give himself a 60th birthday present by doing a cover of "Brand New Love Affair". That was 8 years ago. They could not get sheet music for any of the songs so Leonid writes all of it for all the musicians. These guys are all professionals in Russia. I would be surprised if they need very many rehearsals since they are all extremely proficient. I became hooked on these guys at least 5 years ago and saw them perform twice in the US before the pandemic hit. Back then their lead singer was from the Ukraine and unfortunately, with the outbreak of the war, he is no longer participating with group. He did a lot of his vocals remotely from a studio in Kyiv while everyone else was in Moscow. They started touring the US again sometime in 2021 and I am quite sure you can see them perform live if you really want to. It is worth it. They actually do Chicago better than Chicago.
The original Lead Singer along with Leonid and the one with the Bandana are the originals to form the group. 2 of the best singers were from Ukraine and no longer with the group. The second one was the lead guitar player/singer who was so fantastic. He left, from what they are telling all, was to be with his family rather than be away all the time.
Nobody knows how on POINT THEY REALLY ARE!!!! . I synced the original song with this performance, and they are ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. EVERY SINGLE NOTE IS IN SYNCH
Agreed100 they definitely were last night in Kansas City 😂 just unbelievably talented! These videos can’t fully express the excellence of the vocalists ( the lead singers voice was just phenomenal n the musicians were fantastic ❤Wonderful evening! The new guitar player Connie was fabulous n Igor’s drum solo was awesome
So happy you covered Leonid!!!!! I echo every single comment that you have made and just love that you appreciate the musicianship! Spot on-they are phenomenal! This is the first video I have seen of yours so I look forward and hope that you have seen more of Leonid…
They made my jaw drop in Columbus Ohio for 2.5 hours September 19th. One of the best live performances I have ever seen and I have seen 50+ Jethro Tull to Manhattan Transfer to Rush to Conway Twitty to Steely Dan and Everything in-between. Must see live😁
Leonid and Friends are nothing short of amazing!!! I have seen them in concert and got to meet them. They are incredibly talented it was the best concert I have ever been to. They are genuinely very very nice people and I plan to see them every chance I get. Best concert you'll ever see!!! You need to check out more of their songs on your channel. Take your pick, everything they do is SOLID GOLD!!! 🏆❤🎉
Yes they do perform live. This year they were in the eastern part of the country for several months, took a break, and came back and covered the western part of the country. They are finishing their tour in Nevada. Leonid on bass, the drummer, and the singer wearing the welders scarf are original band members. The band started by playing the music of Chicago. One early song you might like is Saturday in the Park.
Leonid had plans to retire 3 or 4 years ago. For his birthday he asked a group of friends to do a Chicago cover. It went over so well, he just kept going.
The old guy on the guitar is Leonid who writes out all of the parts they play. The band is touring the US right now. They tour twice a year in the US from their home in Moscow Russia. They sing in English very well although not all of them can speak much English. They have been covering songs for eight years.
The original guitarist and main singer for the Chicago cover songs were Ukrainian and of course had to go back when the war started to take care of their families. Sad
The old guy on the guitar is Leonid, he writes the arrangements and does everything. i just saw them for the 2nd time a couple of weeks ago. They are not only very talented artists, they are very gregarious and endearing! They have many tributes and all perfectly done!
Leonid and Friends are one of the best cover bands there are. the cover Chicago better then Chicago. Earth Wind And Fire and many others. You really need to get into this group they are just amazing.
They used strings only on certain songs. Most of their songs consisted of horns piano, drums, shakers, and other small instruments with only about 10 individuals. Leonid (pronounced "Lay-o-need"in Russian) is the older man, usually playing bass guitar. There are a number of lead vocalists, including Leonid, himself.
Leonid and band, studio or live, said they want cover the music to purity of the original songs - as we love them. They rarely venture into artistic license. An incredible concert to see in person.
Agreed100 they were fantastic in Kansas City last nite! I don’t know how their voices are so awesome as much as they’ve been touring!! Awesomeness 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Leonid & Friends start their West Coast tour in the US on September 7! You owe it to yourself to see them in person. I've seen them 2 years in a row and they just keep getting better and better!
Yes, music knows no bounds of any kind. This cover band is from Russia and the old man Leonid is the leader. What makes them so good is they are all studio-quality musicians plus their numbers. They started off covering Chicago's music them onto EWF and others. Check out their covers of "After the Love has Gone", "In The Stone", and their cover of Tower of Power's "So Very Hard To Go". Another Band to check out is Vulfpack the song is Cory Wong live version, trip out on Joe Dart the bass player.
Actually, Roman, Leonid's son & their business manager speaks English very, very well. Almost the entire (main) group has a decent working knowledge of basic english, I believe Ksenia (their only female singer, knows 5 languages) & sings perfectly in three... They are not all from Russia, but they love playing & being in the USA.
Absolutely awesome musicians. I'm a musician and singer myself and have to give extremely high props to everyone involved. Would love for you to feature "Aint Nobody" by this same group. It kicks just as well, and your audience will love it.
A few strings and horns does not constitute and orchestra. An orchestra averages about 100 players including around 60 strings. So yes, a full orchestra at peak loudness will deafen you. This though is a great cover.
Thank you for your wonder reaction. Please also react to their 'Chicago' songs... please react to '25 or 6 to 4'. They sound just like CHICAGO! They actually do quite a few 'Chicago' songs. Peace.
I discovered Leonid and Friends a little over a year ago. They’re fantastic! Here’s a request. Dimash Qudaibergen, regarded as the best vocalist on the planet right now. Speaks multiple languages, sings in 15 languages, plays 7 instruments. He was chosen as a wildcard on a Chinese singing competition called, I Am A Singer. The other contestants on the show were already established singers in China. He was unknown at the time. After his performance, he became an overnight sensation in China. Ever since then he’s been selling out concerts all over the globe. Here are 2 links. One to SOS and the other is Sinful Passion. ua-cam.com/video/3hTy2MqmwLk/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/sYOrR2lyPr8/v-deo.html
There are so many more of their songs they tribute, Chicago, Tower of Power, Carpenters, etc. plus an original A Speck of Dust which may be the best of them all. Check it out. Each song is better than the one before.
Hey Bro, one of the best reactions to any song that I have seen lol. I watch these because of people like you who are passionate about hearing fantastic music. BTW the song, (Blackbird!) By the band Aterbridge
These guys are from Russia or Ukraine, I think. Hey also do a lot of Chicago. Great attention to the detail of all of the songs they cover. Really top shelf musicians. Thanks
Could please save the commentary until the song is finished Otherwise it is hard to focus on the artist and the song. I do however agree with all you said about this amazing group.
Great reaction to a great song. This group actually did justice to one of the most difficult songs to cover --- period. Vocalist did a great job, and while matching Philip Bailey is tough, he was very good.
What a JAM !!!! Band member names look Russian maybe? Recorded in a studio in Arizona? Don't care who did it or where it's from, if it's great music i'm ALL IN !!!!! 😃😃😃😃
They're from Moscow. They tour the US every year since 2018 except for covid. The studio is in Moscow as well. Treat yourself to one of their concerts, you won't be disappointed.
Ok, this is going to be a harsh critique, but not aimed only at you but a particular type of reactor in general. Why is it that certain reactors conduct themselves as if they are auditioning for an acting gig or some over exuberant host of a late-night variety show? Is it that they think that just being themselves isn't enough to attract an audience? Personally, I am more compelled by down to earth real people who present themselves the same on camera as off. This is my perspective and mini rant. My advice, just be real.

I have seen them live Twice! So good! They are from Moscow and they absolutely love America. They are extremely humble as well.
And I saw the original Chicago years ago and loved them!! This group is even better ❤❤ their vocals are simply unbelievable 😂😂😂😂
Nobody knows how on POINT THEY REALLY ARE!!!! . I synced the original song with this performance, and they are ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. EVERY SINGLE NOTE IS IN SYNCH

Yes, they are THAT GREAT!

Same in Kansas City Sept 30❤❤❤
In my opinion the only other tribute band that matches them is Australian Pink Floyd.

Best cover ever

Saw them in Charleston this past Wednesday. They are amazing!! It was so good and you could not slap the grin off my face!!
That "old guy on the guitar" - bass actually - is the founder of this band: Leonid Vorobyev.
Chicago is their Bread and Butter. Just saw them in Charleston SC. Awesome!!!!!!
Get your carrots ready because you're about to go down the big beautiful rabbit hole that is Leonid & Friends!
True and they never disappoint 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
We'll be back in Florida on the Spring Tour, starting in April 2024!
I have been waiting for Florida!!!!
I've got the chills now I grew up on this stuff.
Leonid and Friends is so good, I don't believe there is a group they cannot cover. I Love Danil.
Leonid and Friends are one of the best cover bands there are. the cover Chicago better then Chicago. Earth Wind And Fire and many others. You really need to get into this group they are just amazing.

Followed them since the beginning - they are consistently tremendous. Thanks for interrupting and ruining it. Bye bye.
