You could just assign numbers to each colour with pencil on both the pattern and the floss drop along with the symbol - covers all mind sets for recognizing the correct floss.
Many of us older stitchers learned our craft stitching Dimensions kits, among many other popular brands. Unfortunately their popularity took a bit of a dive when the quality of the materials came under scrutiny. The level of designs have always remained spectacular. I’m really enjoying your enthusiasm and watching you travel down the rabbit hole. I’ve found a few Flosstubers who have displayed their collections and they are all quite impressive. Beautiful dimensions kits they are fascinating, I’m not sure I’m ready for one yet. I am stitching a couple of “MILL Hill” kits which are fun! Your Barn is fantastic will be fun to see back stitched.

Back in the day, Dimensions was all that was readily available so that’s what a lot of my early (monogamous) stitching was & I always mark the Dimensions symbol(s) by the color on the thread symbol - including the blends or different thread # or stitch type - much easier that way. Looking forward to the tree class Saturday! Almost finished with my homework.

I love dimension kits, and it might help you, but if you email dimensions and show proof you own the kit they will send you a pdf of the pattern. Which I find super helpful since I use GoodNotes for my marking off on patterns.
I ended up splurging and grabbed Christmas cove on eBay! Haha luckily it was also not $200 like most listings. Let me know if you want to stitch it together! It’s going to be my first older dimensions kit. I’ve never had to sort my threads before - I might bust out my pako organizer for this
I learned how to cross stitch in 1982. I was in a high school craft class. Thank you Mrs. Howard. After that class I fell in love with cross stitch. I would spend my babysitting money on Dimensions kits. Sometimes my parts would buy a kit for me. Back then, I always finished my cross stitch pattern before I bought another one. They were expensive for a teenager. All I had to pick from was Dimensions Kits or a few leisure arts leaflets at the craft store. I didn’t even start buying the leaflets until I was a little older to be able to kit them up. How fun is it to see you excited over these kits. Tonight I bought Woodland Glow. Oh my goodness, it’s so pretty. Maybe I will SAL it with you when you start it. I also bought Petites Woodland Cheer. It’s adorable. There is one more I really want but I will wait until I have bought Christmas presents for everyone else.
When you were talking about blends of the thread, I would make a separate card with the blend , the symbol for the blend and the blend color names. For my brain that would work better. It was so fun seeing your excitement for your new kits. See you at the Jingle Ball! 💜 - Connie
I’m very new to cross stitch, a total newbie actually. But, I just had to buy that Dimension kit for when I get proficient enough to complete it. I just love it. I also have your Pumpkin House and Butterfly Cloche on my list! They are two of my all time of my favorites . 👍👍🌟💫 I just need to start with beginner ones. 🤩

Blended thread might be too thick for the blue linen. You will have to so a sample try.
