  • Tzili Schneider is a veteran teacher, a member of the Orthodox mainstream, the mother of eleven and a woman who cares. Deeply.
    Tzili grew up in Meah Shearim surrounded by all shades and hues of Jewish life. She remembers as a little girl dancing joyfully with soldiers following the capture of the Kosel at the end of the six-day war.
    As she grew up, Tzili noted that the general atmosphere in Israel outside the sheltered alleyways of her youth was diametrically different. She began to encounter hostility and mistrust, dissension and stigma.
    In fact, when she worked as a teacher, she rode the public bus every day alongside another staff member. But they never spoke because Tzili was religious and the other woman was not.
    Tzili desperately wanted to do something to bring her people together again.
    In 2012, she fulfilled her dream. She founded Kesher Yehudi, a groundbreaking platform for diverse sectors to meet and connect through Torah learning.
    Kesher Yehudi welcomes all segments of the Jewish nation with love, providing the support and tools necessary to foster personal connections and long-term unity.
    With her relentless determination, Tzili has created an unprecedented movement that has transformed lives and changed Israeli society for the better.

    This interview reminds me of Rabbi Mordechai and Henny Machlis house. This is an incredible family in Jerusalem that valued Ahavat Israel above all else. Rebbetzin Machlis had 14 children and yet she had over 100 people over her small apartment in Jerusalem EVERY SINGLE shabbat. They welcomed every person and her mission was to encourage people to fall in love with shabbat and see the neshama in every Jewish person even if the person was alcoholic or mentally unstable . I highly encourage the viewers of this podcast to read about their family in a book called Emuna with love and chicken soup. And i would love if rabbi Machlis or any of Rebbetzin children can be interviewed (she unfortunately has passed away 😢)

    First:
    May there be peace and unity in the world.
    Second:
    Thank you for respectfully reading my comment right to the end. My intention is good and I believe you are good too. I am asking you to be mature and logical on both sides please.
    Third: Everyone is unique and valuable.
    Each 1 is invaluable merely because he or she exists. Thank you to each and every 1 of you for existing.
    Each 1 has a different contribution depending on his or her skill set. Thank you to each 1 of you who contribute.
    Each 1 has a different mission. Thank you to each 1 of you who live your mission.
    Is everyone fighting in the army the answer to world peace? If everyone was in the army, would there still be a problem? If everyone was in the airforce would there be a problem?
    Finally: I do not understand why serving, or not serving, in an army is the value of a person to a country? Especially when some people are hard of seeing and others are autistic and others are paralyzed and others grow countries financially ect? Are they bad because they have not served in the army?
    Are firefighters of no value because they do not serve in the army? Do they not also put their lives on the line to save others and keep people safe? Why does not everyone volunteer to be a firefighter, is that not unfair?
    Are there firefighters who are Charadim? And are they bad because they have never served in the army?
    There are many ways of being that are equally valuable because everyone is part of 1 whole. Thank you to each 1 of you. Thank you for being respectful on both sides.

    Tzili Schneider’s mother must be humbly proud of her daughter, to see her set up Kesher Yehudi and have it being such a force and glue for good and for YHVH, under Torah, for His People.
    As an NZ Messianic believer, I know that unity for Israel is critical to the coming of your and my Mashiach to Yerushalayim, to rule and reign over the whole world.
    With these firm Faith beliefs, I too, feel isolated day to day, within my own community, but only this past week, have been shown by the Ruach that I need to go out and speak The Truth boldly. I started with a neighbour…
    I love Tzili and what she has promoted.
    Thank you, too, for another awesome episode.

    So glad to hear from Tzili, whom I will call a Rebetzin, because of her wisdom and blessed life experience. Honor also to her mother. And I am American, probably viewed as a Masorti ,not claiming I understand Israeli perspective. Still my feeling is, if the flow in these beautiful groups is always Torah from Haredi perspective, it is not a mutual learning. But it seems, despite the structure, that the flow goes both ways. My question is whether there are groups with matched women? And also non Haredi may study Torah also, if they are Masorti , so there is their perspective on Torah. I would shudder to think, that if Israel became all Haredi and there was almost no one in the military, who would protect Israel? I heard her gratitude for this and it implies that not every contact w a non Haredi or non Dati should have the desire that the relationship would result in a Baal Teshuva. So I also hope that there is a sense of equality rather than, “I know what is right”. I observe and therefore believe that our historical biblical origins in accepting Torah and Talmud has seeped into Jewish values of the Hiloni, though it may not be realized or acknowledged. So if you are the Keepers of the Book, this is an important mitzvot. We the Jewish People from whatever perspective, if we are to continue to shine a light, must stay connected all with each other. I hope the Masorti grow, pulling those who ignore our Father and Mother’s Stories (Torah) into consciousness. Maybe some Haredi or Dati who leave (we must admit this happens) do not reject it all but stay connected through other levels of Jewish knowledge, pride and Observance. I feel when with my Israeli friends who tend to be more Hiloni, that Israelis can learn from us, that Judaism as an observance is of high value. We have here besides Reform, Conservative, Reconstruction, but also Aleph movement of Renewal which draws strongly from founder R. Zalman Schecter Shlomi. This variety and continuum shows that those in Diaspora have found consistent ways to stay linked to HaShem and Talmud/Torah and all our traditions, remaining strongly Jewish.

      Hi Devorah. I am happy you are looking for answers. If you continue to delve deeply, it will help you to think for yourself and not be influenced by the media and any other sources that do not delve deeply enough and present only a most superficial view. There are many Charedim in the army, for example, and the army doesn't need the Charedim who learn Torah full time. As well as needing brave soldiers with guns and bullets who sacrifice for our people, we also need brave men who sacrifice materialism and often are the subject of contempt by the media to provide knowledge and the spiritual continuity of our people. If the army was even bigger but the yeshivot were, God forbid, empty, it would not be long before we would fade into assimilation. If there were no medical researchers and scholars, how long would it be before the area of medicine would stagnate? If you seek out what lies beneath the surface, you are bound to find the joy and satisfaction you crave. I used to watch the news and trust their accounts until I realized that when they spoke about a subject I knew well, they were not only lacking in their coverage but were actually misleading and distorting as anyone "in the know" would see. I finally went to see for myself and I lived in several cities among several different groups of people until I could see what lies beneath the surface. It changed my life and I think, from the tone of your questions, you will also come to pursue something deeper without constantly chasing the latest fads that don't require any soul-searching. Without searching and growth there is usually a one-dimensional perspective. I wish you success in your journey, clarity, and simchat chayim!

    • @DevorahC
      @DevorahC 4 місяці тому +1

      @@susie5254 I appreciate that contribution by those who sacrifice materialism. I am certainly not chasing any fads, and I always go deep as you can see by my responses. I am not searching, I am now an older woman, 70 years. Henieni. Here I am. So you speak to the balance. This is good. I am glad to hear there are Charedim in the army. Thank you for clarifying. I am just saying that all levels of observance are powerful. One is not superior to the other. I find that even those without formal Jewish observance are good people with depth. Being Jewish in itself provides guidance from ancient lineage. I try to respect all peoples. But as we see there is evil in the world and even enough national straying to cause misery and heartbreak. I work toward people realizing that HAMAS is evil and their values are not ours. Until the world understands this we cannot be rational about supporting this war. Too many think there is an equivalency and there is not. They are worse than Hitler’s minions and there is a connection from 1940w with Amin al-Husseini who began this whole mess. Blessings to you and may you continue to be safe, healthy and wise.

    • @susie5254
      @susie5254 4 місяці тому +2

      @@DevorahC Thank you for your kind words. All levels of observance should certainly be respected as you said, as long as they do not seek to take the Jewish people away from God and His Torah and create new religions, versions, or holidays. Hopefully we are all growing in Torah observance no matter what our level of Torah education. It is the seeking of Torah that is critical and I assume that is why we try to be a people of scholars without whom we would be adrift, God forbid, to assimilate and disappear; we have God's promise that this will not happen. As soon as you have a son enlisted, you will understand that there are 2 Jewish nations in Israel. One who must put their children's lives on their lines to protect our people. And one that doesn't. Until that ends, most parents on the serving, sacrificing their children side, can smile and talk nicely to the other side. But the other side has excepted themselves from that sacrifice. And that makes the "echad" meaningless when you're sending just our kids to the front lines. This sounds lovely in America. It's a crock here when my sons must serve but theirs must not. I have good friends who are charedi. Until this war, i felt no resentment. Now, this group has a decision to make. If they want to be brothers who stand by and let their brothers give up their lives for them or if they will be brothers, willing to give up their lives for each other.

Or they do basic training with only men in a more religious atmosphere. There has to be a way but the politicians are the ones who keep this all going.
