  • New 2024 Renault Captur Hybrid Urban SUV Facelift- Interior Exterior
Renault has pulled the curtain back on the 2024 Captur, destined for European markets. In addition to a fresh aesthetic, this latest iteration boasts functional enhancements and a lineup of new powertrain options. Positioned squarely against the Ford Puma across European markets, the Renault Captur steps up its game.
The most noticeable transformation comes at the front, where the Captur flaunts a redefined, less rounded visage. A striking grille design, which we previously previewed in exclusive images, takes center stage, drawing inspiration from the all-electric Renault Scenic E-Tech. This updated look also showcases Renault's revamped logo and introduces vertical lighting strakes flanking the front bumper, which itself has undergone refinement.
Changes to the rear are more understated, featuring a streamlined rear bumper and diffuser, with transparent tail-light housings adding a subtle touch. The facelifted Captur offers two-tone paint schemes, standard with the new range-topping Esprit Alpine trim, a fresh addition to the small SUV lineup.
Inside the cabin, the dashboard layout remains largely unchanged, but there are notable upgrades. A new 10.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system, equipped with built-in Google and an Android-based user interface, takes center stage. Complementing this is a revamped 10.25-inch digital instrument console, injecting both style and enhanced technology. Renault has opted for recycled materials over leather upholstery in the new Captur.
Under the hood, entry-level variants are powered by a petite three-cylinder 1.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine, delivering 90 hp through a six-speed manual gearbox. Stepping up, the larger four-cylinder 1.3-liter turbo unit churns out 140 hp and pairs with the same manual transmission. For those craving more power, a beefed-up version of the 1.3-liter engine boasts 160 hp, mated to a dual-clutch, seven-speed automatic transmission.
Alternatively, buyers can opt for the hybrid powertrain featuring a naturally aspirated 1.6-liter gasoline engine producing 94 hp. This works in tandem with a 36-kilowatt electric motor, an 18-kW high-voltage starter generator, and a 1.2-kWh battery, resulting in a combined output of 145 hp. Notably, the hybrid variant starts in purely electric mode, promising efficient city driving with Renault claiming that 80 percent of urban travel can be achieved without engaging the combustion engine.
